Staff Accountant
Location: Hybrid (3 Days in Office- Liberty Corner, NJ)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $65,000–$85,000

Bonus Opportunity: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus with a target opportunity of 10% of base salary, based on company, divisional, and individual performance and profitability goals. Bonus payments are not guaranteed.

What Do We Want?

We are seeking a capable, curious, and dependable Staff Accountant to support general accounting, financial reporting, and cash management. The right person will have strong accounting fundamentals, take pride in producing accurate work, and be eager to learn, grow, and take on additional responsibilities to support the team.

Our accounting team works hard, maintains high standards, and enjoys working together. The successful candidate will be comfortable giving and receiving direct, respectful feedback, able to maintain a sense of humor during busy periods, and willing to step in wherever support is needed.

Key Responsibilities

Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
Prepare journal entries and Balance Sheet account reconciliations.
Analyze general ledger activity and resolve discrepancies.
Assist with financial statements and management reporting.
Monitor cash balances and support cash forecasting.
Support audits, tax filings, and other reporting requirements.
Maintain accounting procedures and internal controls.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes.
Support additional projects and team priorities as needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
General Accounting experience.
Knowledge of journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint.
Experience in consulting, engineering, professional services, or another project-based industry.
Experience with project accounting, audits, or multi-entity accounting.
