Join EverGreene Architectural Arts

EverGreene Architectural Arts is seeking a focused and technically capable Production Designer to support the development of production-ready documentation within our studio environment. This role is responsible for translating finalized design direction into clear layouts, scaled drawings, and organized digital files that guide studio artists and field teams. The Production Designer plays a critical supporting role in ensuring that design intent is accurately documented and efficiently executed.

For nearly 50 years, EverGreene has been a national leader in architectural restoration, conservation, and design - trusted to work on many of the most iconic and historically significant buildings in the United States. Our projects unite the worlds of art and construction, combining technical mastery with creative problem-solving to deliver outstanding results in complex, high-stakes environments. As a 100% employee-owned company, we don’t just offer jobs - we offer the opportunity to build a meaningful career while preserving America’s architectural legacy and contributing to work that endures.

Position Summary

The Production Designer prepares detailed layouts, scaled drawings, and digital documentation based on direction from the Senior Designer and Principal Designer when applicable. This role focuses on accuracy, file organization, and production clarity. Production Designers are expected to work within allocated design hours and proactively communicate documentation questions or conflicts before work moves into studio fabrication.

This role works collaboratively with design and project teams to translate approved design concepts into fully realized production materials. The position supports the development and refinement of decorative elements and ornament—including borders, stencils, ornamental plaster, murals, and furnishings—guided by historic precedent, architectural context, and client vision. A strong understanding of fabrication methods, materials, and installation processes is essential to ensure artistic intent is carried through every phase of production.

Core Responsibilities

Prepare scaled drawings, elevations, and layout documents based on approved designs.
Develop production-ready digital files for printing, projection, cutting, or studio transfer.
Refine, vectorize, and texture hand-drawn or conceptual artwork into print-ready and cutter-ready formats.
Create spatial and colorized renderings using photography, architectural drawings, and 3D models to visualize design intent.
Organize and maintain digital project folders and file naming standards.
Coordinate closely with Senior Designers to ensure documentation reflects approved intent.
Incorporate redlines and revisions accurately and efficiently.
Make and verify measurements and proportions to produce accurate layouts, “as-builts,” and full-scale templates.
Assist with preparation of submittal packages, presentation materials, and client-facing deliverables.
Produce digital artwork on various substrates using studio equipment and ensure alignment with approved samples.
Ensure accurate color matching between production materials, swatches, and painted samples.
Track assigned hours against project allocations and communicate concerns early.
Support internal quality control by reviewing drawings for accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with studio artists to clarify layout dimensions, sequencing, and transfer methods.
Assist in defining production workflows, sequencing phases of work, and organizing deliverables for efficient execution.
Prepare clear installation documentation and instructions for field teams.
Participate in project kickoff and internal coordination meetings when assigned.
Communicate with design teams, architects, and project stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve documentation gaps.

Career Path

This position is project based (variable hour) with the potential for Full Time status. Production Designers develop strong technical documentation skills within the studio environment. With experience and demonstrated capability, this role may advance to Senior Designer, taking on greater design responsibility and mentorship of junior staff.
