Please note that the hourly rate referenced is a general guideline only. Salary differentials are based on multiple factors including (but not limited to), geographic location, education/training, years of relevant experience/seniority, merit, qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. WORK SCHEDULE:

This role is responsible for covering the front desk / reception area at Mohawk Global’s Syracuse headquarters for approximately five (5) hours per week during lunch periods as well as providing backup administrative support as needed during vacations, sick time and other absences.

Position Summary:

The Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Executive Assistant and must exhibit exceptional communication skills, attention to detail and have experience working in a business office environment, performing administrative duties. The ideal person for this position will consistently project a pleasant and professional demeanor both internally and externally with clients and visitors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Answer all incoming phone calls in a polite and professional manner and welcome visitors, identify the purpose of their visit and direct them to the appropriate department
Manage daily incoming and outgoing mail and express messenger packets 
Maintain a reception area that is both clean and orderly
General administrative duties (copying, filing, etc.)
Provide coverage for full-time receptionist position when needed (i.e. sick, vacation)
Perform other duties as assigned

Desired Skills/Experience:

2-3 years of experience in an administrative assistant / receptionist / support role 
Proficiency in Microsoft programs (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Understanding of office practices and procedures and knowledge of Business English including punctuation, spelling, and grammar required
Typing and keyboarding skills
Superior organizational skills
Time management skills
