Who We Are

NonProfit Fiscal Management LLC (NPFM) provides outsourced financial management services to mission-driven nonprofit organizations across the country. Our work closes the financial expertise gap many nonprofits face by delivering full-spectrum financial services, from basic transaction processing to CFO-level strategic guidance.

Our clients are on the front lines of environmental justice, legal advocacy, housing access, and community organizing. We see our work as part of theirs. Our mission is to support theirs by offering reliable, equitable, and human-centered financial management.

We are a fully remote, paperless team of 12, including accountants, data services and implementation specialists, and our CPA founder.

The Opportunity

As an Accountant at NPFM, you will manage the day-to-day financial operations for a portfolio of nonprofit clients under the supervision of our founder and CPA. You will collaborate closely with fellow accountants, data service specialists, and organizational leadership to provide financial services that are accurate, timely, and easy for clients to understand.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys systems, spreadsheets, and mission-driven work. You will support organizations with budgeting, transactional review, grant reporting, and audit preparation.

What You Will Be Doing

As an Accountant at NPFM, you will:

Manage monthly and quarterly close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
Prepare financial statements and funder-specific reports
Track restricted funding and grant allocations
Review transactional data (e.g., payroll, accounts payable) entered by client or support staff
Manage annual audit, 990, and 1099 preparation, and assist with annual budgeting
Work with team members to strengthen systems and procedures and address issues as they arise
Communicate with clients through video, email, and phone, and address general accounting requests as they arise

What We Offer

We aim to build roles that are both supportive and sustainable for our clients and our team. Here is what you can expect as part of working with us:

Annual salary of $80,000–$90,000 (full-time equivalent), based on experience
Employer-sponsored 401(k) with an employer match
Health and dental insurance
Short- and long-term disability coverage
Life insurance
Unlimited paid time off

Who We’re Looking For

We are especially eager to connect with candidates whose lived or professional experiences reflect the communities served by our nonprofit clients. Our clients are as diverse as we are, and we believe that building an inclusive team is essential to supporting their work with care, integrity, and impact. We strongly encourage applications from individuals whose identities and experiences have been historically underrepresented in the financial services sector.
