ABOUT THE ROLE
Techno is seeking a Bridge Inspector to support a fast-moving transportation infrastructure project in southern New Jersey. This is an exciting opportunity to join a project team at the start of construction and play a key role in ensuring quality, safety, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have experience inspecting bridge and transportation-related construction activities, maintaining detailed field documentation, and working closely with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders. This position is well-suited for professionals who thrive in dynamic construction environments and enjoy being directly involved in the delivery of critical infrastructure projects.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Perform inspections of bridge construction, rehabilitation, and related transportation infrastructure activities.
- Monitor contractor operations to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Document daily construction activities, workforce, equipment, installed quantities, and site conditions.
- Identify and report construction deficiencies, non-conforming work, and safety concerns.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and client representatives.
- Review concrete, steel, structural, drainage, and roadway-related construction activities as applicable.
- Maintain accurate project records, photographs, and inspection reports.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on construction progress and field observations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of construction inspection experience on bridge, highway, transportation, or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
- Experience performing inspections of bridge construction, rehabilitation, or structural improvement projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong written communication and field documentation skills.
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and construction site safety practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital field reporting tools.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- NICET certification is preferred.
- Experience supporting projects for agencies such as NJDOT, county transportation departments, or other public-sector transportation clients is preferred.
