Job description:
We are seeking an experienced Foreman / Technician (Tech Level 3) with strong leadership abilities and hands-on collision repair expertise. The ideal candidate must be capable of managing repairs from start to finish, ensuring high-quality workmanship, proper repair procedures, and efficient shop operations. This position requires a technician who not only performs advanced repairs but can also supervise and support other technicians, maintain production flow, and uphold safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and supervise daily shop operations and technicians.
- Perform and inspect repairs from initial damage assessment through final delivery.
- Conduct and oversee:
- Welding and metal fabrication repairs
- Dent and body damage repairs
- Nick and minor damage repairs
- Bonding and adhesive repairs
- Plastic component repairs
- Structural and collision repairs
- Diagnose and repair or assist with:
- SRS (Airbag) systems
- ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
- Operate and supervise the use of frame machines and measuring equipment.
- Perform basic mechanical repairs related to collision repair work.
- Ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain productivity, quality control, and repair documentation.
- Train, mentor, and support technicians when needed.
- Coordinate workflow to ensure repairs are completed on time.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of collision repair experience preferred.
- Previous experience as a Foreman, Lead Technician, Shop Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
Strong knowledge of:
- Welding techniques
- Dent and body repair
- Bonding and adhesive repair procedures
- Plastic repair methods
- Structural repair procedures
- SRS systems
- ADAS systems and calibrations
- Frame machine operation and measuring systems
- Basic mechanical repairs
- Ability to read and interpret repair procedures and OEM guidelines.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple repairs and technicians simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- I-CAR certifications or equivalent training.
- Experience with modern vehicle technology and manufacturer repair procedures.
- Experience working in a high-volume collision repair environment.
