Job Description
Reporting to the Director of University Health Services, the Student Health Center Medical Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care in accordance with the Student Health Center’s standards. The Medical Assistant will work alongside our team members to assist with both administrative and clinical duties.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for maintaining patient flow. Monitor for patient’s arrival, accompany and/or assist patients into the exam room.
- Obtain patient vital signs and transcribe to patient medical record in a timely fashion. Report abnormal vital signs to APN immediately.
- Perform a variety of diagnostic CLIA waived point of care testing.
- Collect and process lab specimens.
- Maintain point of care testing logs
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures as needed.
- Perform venipuncture procedure in accordance with clinical standards.
- Restock, clean and prepare medical exam rooms and lab.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Management retains the right to change or add job duties at any time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
- Completion of a formal medical assistant training program (NHA, NCCT, AMT, AAMA, NCMA, AMCA, AECA, or NAHP)
- Current CPR/AED certification
- High school diploma
PREFERRED:
- 6 months experience in a primary care setting preferred
- Experience working with young adults and diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ patients

Salary Range
$20.00-$23.00 Hourly
