About the Role
Holt Logistics is looking for anIT Infrastructure & IoT Technician to support the physical backbone of our technology environment. This role is responsible for installing and maintaining structured low voltage cabling, deploying and troubleshooting IT and IoT equipment, and performing break/fix work across our facilities. You'll be hands-on every day running cable, terminating and testing connections, mounting and configuring devices, and keeping critical systems online.

What You'll Do
Low Voltage Cabling (Inside Plant)
- Install, terminate, and test Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A copper and fiber optic cabling
- Run cable through walls, ceilings, conduit, and cable trays in accordance with code and company standards
- Label, document, and organize cabling in patch panels, racks, and IDF/MDF closets
- Perform cable certification testing and troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Maintain as-built documentation and cabling diagrams
Equipment Installation
- Install and configure network switches, access points, cameras, sensors, and other IoT/edge devices
- Mount and wire equipment racks, enclosures, and wall-mounted hardware
- Coordinate installations with facilities, vendors, and other trades as needed
- Follow manufacturer specs and internal standards for device placement and power requirements
Break/Fix & Support
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, connectivity, and configuration issues on IoT and network equipment
- Respond to service tickets for equipment outages or degraded performance
- Replace failed components (cabling, switches, sensors, power supplies, etc.)
- Perform root-cause troubleshooting and escalate complex issues as needed
What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience in structured/low voltage cabling, IT field support, or a related technical role
- Working knowledge of copper and fiber cabling standards (TIA/EIA-568) and termination methods
- Good mechanical aptitude comfortable racking and mounting equipment, running conduit, and using hand and power tools
- Experience installing networked equipment (switches, APs, cameras, sensors) and racking/stacking hardware in cabinets and enclosures
- Ability to perform basic network troubleshooting (verifying link lights, swapping cables/ports, confirming device connectivity)
- Comfortable using cable testers and basic diagnostic equipment
- Ability to read basic network/cabling diagrams and follow installation standards
- Strong attention to detail and solid mechanical/hands-on problem-solving skills
- Ability to work at heights, including operating and working from lifts up to 80 feet
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between sites as needed
Nice to Have
- BICSI certification
- Experience with IoT platforms or edge devices in a warehouse/logistics/industrial setting
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts (VLANs, IP addressing, PoE)
- Prior experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or industrial facility
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and operate/work from lifts up to 80 feet
- Ability to stand, kneel, and work in elevated spaces for extended periods
