We are looking for Certified Home Health Aides who drive and genuinely enjoy companionship and helping clients stay active, engaged and connected to their communities.
We have a growing number of clients who need more than traditional care at home. They are looking for someone who can spend meaningful time with them, accompany them on outings and appointments, help with errands, and provide transportation when needed.
This is a great role for an aide who enjoys conversation, building relationships, getting out of the house with clients and making their days a little more enjoyable.
Applicants must drive and be comfortable transporting clients in either the client's vehicle or their own vehicle, depending on the assignment.
Companionship & Transportation Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, engaging one-on-one companionship
- Build meaningful relationships with clients and encourage social interaction
- Accompany clients on errands, shopping trips and other local outings
- Drive or accompany clients to medical appointments
- Take clients for walks, meals, activities or other appropriate outings
- Encourage clients to participate in hobbies and activities they enjoy
- Provide conversation, emotional support and a reassuring presence
- Help clients maintain their independence and stay connected to their community
- Provide medication reminders
- Prepare meals and snacks according to instructions
- Assist with light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, changing bed linens, vacuuming, dusting and tidying the client's home
Personal Care Responsibilities
Depending on the client's needs, responsibilities may also include:
- Bathing and personal hygiene
- Dressing and grooming
- Toileting and incontinence care
- Ambulation and transfers
- Assistance with eating
- Mobility support
- Range-of-motion exercises as directed by a Right at Home nurse
- Measuring and preparing special diets
- Dementia care and supervision
- Other client-specific activities taught and supervised by a Right at Home nurse
Job Requirements
- Current Certified Home Health Aide certification
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable, insured vehicle
- Comfortable driving clients in your own vehicle and/or the client's vehicle
- At least one year of caregiving, Home Health Aide or CNA experience in a home or facility setting preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the position
- Dependable and able to arrive on time for scheduled visits
