We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Senior Marketing Designer to support the development of integrated marketing campaigns across direct mail and digital channels for financial services, banking, lending, and insurance clients. This role is responsible for translating marketing strategy, customer insights, and campaign objectives into compelling creative solutions that drive engagement, acquisition, retention, and customer response. The designer should be capable of independently owning campaigns from concept through production.
The ideal candidate combines strong visual design skills with an understanding of direct marketing, digital marketing, customer journey planning, and performance optimization. They are proficient in leveraging AI-powered creative tools and workflows to accelerate concept development, enhance creative quality, support content personalization, and improve production efficiency across print and digital channels. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to integrate emerging AI technologies responsibly while maintaining brand standards, compliance requirements, and creative excellence.
Candidates must demonstrate practical experience incorporating AI-powered creative tools into the design process, including concept development, image creation, content ideation, personalization, and production workflows. A portfolio showcasing examples of AI-assisted creative development is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities Creative Development & Design
- Design and develop integrated marketing campaigns across direct mail and digital channels.
- Create direct mail assets including letters, postcards, self-mailers, statement inserts, acquisition kits, and other customer communications.
- Design digital assets including email campaigns, landing pages, display advertising, paid social, website graphics, and customer lifecycle communications.
- Translate creative briefs, audience insights, and campaign goals into effective visual solutions.
- Develop multiple creative concepts and campaign variants to support testing and optimization initiatives.
- Ensure creative consistency across all customer touchpoints and channels.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Creative Directors, Copywriters, Strategists, Account Teams, Analysts, and Production Specialists to deliver high-impact marketing campaigns.
- Incorporate performance insights, customer behavior data, and testing results into creative recommendations.
- Present concepts and design solutions internally and support client presentations as needed.
- Manage revisions and stakeholder feedback while maintaining strategic and creative integrity.
Production & Execution
- Prepare production-ready files for print and digital deployment.
- Apply hands-on direct mail production knowledge, including postal formats, envelope and window considerations, versioning, personalization, and print specifications.
- Package and preflight InDesign files; verify color space, image resolution, fonts, links, bleeds, and other requirements for accurate print-vendor handoff.
- Collaborate with print vendors, production teams, marketing technology teams, and digital developers to ensure successful execution.
- Support versioning and personalization strategies across both print and digital channels.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy, brand compliance, and regulatory adherence.
- Maintain organized creative assets, templates, and design libraries.
AI-Powered Creative Development
- Utilize AI tools to support concept generation, visual exploration, creative ideation, image development, and campaign optimization.
- Leverage AI-assisted workflows to accelerate creative development while maintaining strategic thinking, design quality, and brand consistency.
- Partner with strategy, analytics, and marketing teams to apply AI-driven insights for campaign personalization and audience engagement.
- Evaluate and implement emerging AI technologies that improve creative effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability.
- Apply AI responsibly within financial services and insurance compliance requirements, ensuring appropriate governance, accuracy, and brand integrity.
- Continuously explore innovative applications of AI across direct mail, digital marketing, content creation, and customer communications.
Performance Marketing Support
- Apply direct response and customer experience best practices across all creative work.
- Support A/B and multivariate testing initiatives through thoughtful creative development.
- Understand how design impacts engagement, conversion, response rates, and overall campaign performance.
- Leverage analytics and campaign results to refine future creative recommendations.
Compliance & Industry Expertise
- Design within regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to insurance, banking, lending, and financial services marketing.
- Ensure required disclosures, regulatory language, and legal content are incorporated accurately.
- Stay current on creative trends, marketing technologies, consumer behaviors, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or related field.
- 3 to 5 years of professional design experience within an agency, in-house marketing, or integrated creative environment.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and producing both direct mail and digital marketing communications.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating complete, campaign-based direct response work across print and digital channels, including full direct mail kits rather than only individual design pieces.
- Demonstrated direct response marketing experience and understanding of how creative, format, offer, and calls to action affect customer response.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, plus Figma for collaboration and digital creative workflows.
- Demonstrated proficiency using AI-powered creative tools and platforms to support ideation, design development, content generation, image creation, and workflow efficiency.
- Strong understanding of typography, layout, customer communication design, and visual storytelling.
- Exceptional attention to detail and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred
- Experience creating marketing campaigns for insurance, financial services, banking, fintech, mortgage, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
- Understanding of direct response marketing and customer acquisition strategies.
- Experience with email marketing, customer journey design, and responsive digital creative.
- Experience using tools such as Adobe Firefly, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Midjourney, DALL·E, or other AI-assisted design and content creation platforms.
- Experience incorporating AI into creative testing, personalization, audience segmentation, and campaign optimization.
- Understanding of AI governance, copyright considerations, prompt development, and responsible use practices within regulated industries.
- Familiarity with variable data printing and personalized customer communications.
- Working knowledge of HTML email design considerations and digital asset specifications.
- Exposure to performance marketing metrics and testing methodologies.
