Experienced Fireplace & Chimney Technician / Field Manager

Full-Time | $25–$35/hour DOE
Flue Tech Inc. is looking for an experienced construction or
specialty-trades professional to join our field team.
This is a hands-on field leadership position for someone who can
perform high-quality work, run jobs, supervise technicians and
helpers, solve problems in the field, and represent Flue Tech
professionally with clients and contractors.
Direct fireplace and chimney experience is preferred, but we will also
consider strong candidates from related skilled trades who have the
construction experience, mechanical aptitude, and leadership ability
to learn our systems.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead and perform fireplace, chimney, venting, liner, restoration,
repair, and specialty installation projects.
- Manage technicians and helpers, materials, tools, and daily job-site
execution.
- Review drawings, measurements, specifications, manufacturer
instructions, and project documentation.
- Identify field conditions affecting scope, materials, scheduling,
safety, or completion.
- Coordinate professionally with clients, contractors, architects,
designers, project managers, and our office team.
- Maintain clean, organized job sites and premium workmanship standards.
- Document completed work with photos, field notes, material
requirements, and completion information.
- Train and supervise developing technicians and apprentices.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Strong candidates will have:
- Multiple years of hands-on construction or skilled-trade experience.
- Experience independently running jobs, leading crews, or supervising
field personnel.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to read drawings, measurements, specifications, and
installation instructions.
- Professional communication and customer-service skills.
- A valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles.
- Ability to safely perform physical construction work, including
ladder and roof work when required.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Experience in any of the following may be a strong fit:
Fireplace & chimney work • Masonry • HVAC/mechanical • Roofing • Sheet
metal • Carpentry • Plumbing • Commercial construction • Specialty
installation • Construction foreman/crew leadership
Fireplace and chimney experience is highly valuable, but it is not the
only path into this position.
CERTIFICATIONS
OSHA 10/30, CSIA, NFI, F.I.R.E., manufacturer certifications, and
other relevant construction or mechanical credentials are valuable and
may affect starting compensation.
Certifications are preferred, but strong relevant field experience can
substitute.
COMPENSATION
$25–$35 per hour, depending on experience.
Starting pay will be based on relevant trade experience, technical
ability, certifications, leadership experience, and the level of
responsibility the candidate can assume.
Candidates who can independently manage complex field projects,
supervise crews, and professionally represent Flue Tech with clients
and contractors will be considered toward the upper end of the range.
