We’re looking for a passionate and curious Research Assistant to join our team. What You’ll Do:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Research Assistant to support Benchling and related laboratory information systems by providing user assistance, compliance monitoring, data curation, documentation, training, testing, and cross-system coordination. The position ensures high data quality and regulatory compliance for legacy and active research records. This position will help users with access and workflow issues and drives adoption through documentation and training. It partners closely with Cell Core, QB, technicians, and IT/engineering to triage issues, validate fixes, and maintain synchronized records across Benchling, Dotmatics, and Limfinity.
Key Responsibilities:
User support: manage access/reactivation, respond to inquiries, maintain FAQ repository, capture enhancement requests.
Compliance monitoring: track empty containers, unregistered entities, unassigned samples, and location validation errors; support volume compliance reporting.
Training & adoption: produce release notes, deliver re-training and onboarding, promote best practices.
Documentation management: create and maintain user manuals and step-by-step guides; ensure version control and accessibility.
Feature testing: test new features/releases, document test plans/results, report defects, and validate fixes.
Record review & data curation: triage and correct legacy records, consult with scientists, update Dotmatics and other systems, and document decisions for traceability.
Intake & troubleshooting: assist with cell line registrations/expansions and manage approval workflows.
Tracking & data quality: report missing documentation, maintain master tracking file, and drive corrective actions.
Tools: extensive Microsoft Excel use; PowerPoint for stakeholder communications.
Collaboration: coordinate with Cell Core, QB, technicians, and stakeholders through meetings and status tracking.
Who You Are:
Required: BS (or equivalent) in life sciences or related field;
2+ years supporting scientific workflows/data curation/compliance
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication
Excel and basic PowerPoint proficiency
Preferred: experience with Benchling/LIMS/ELN, familiarity with lab workflows and compliance standards, user training and documentation experience, and basic understanding of validation and release processes.

The hourly pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $23.50 to $30.50 per hour. Hourly pay offered may vary depending on the individual’s skills, experience and competitive market value.
