The EY–Microsoft Alliance plays a critical role in driving revenue growth by identifying, shaping, and closing joint transformation opportunities between EY, Microsoft, and our clients.
As a Global Microsoft Industrial & Energy Alliance Relationship Director (ARD), you will work with Microsoft Global Alliance Leadership, EY Industrial & Energy sector leadership, regional alliance teams and Microsoft counterparts to coordinate and deliver sector-led alliance activation. The role will manage the day-to-day Microsoft alliance relationship for Industrial & Energy, including relationship collaboration and governance, sector program oversight, pipeline and performance intelligence, contracts and compliance management, and field activation across priority Industrial & Energy accounts, working closely with EY Industrial & Energy sector leadership.
This role requires a strong understanding of enterprise technology and the Microsoft ecosystem, combined with deep Industrial & Energy industry knowledge and the ability to connect sectors priorities to alliance-led growth.
Your key responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Execute Microsoft Industrial & Energy alliance strategy and objectives in alignment with Microsoft Global Alliance priorities and EY Industrial & Energy sector growth agenda.
- Facilitate top-to-top Microsoft and EY Industrial & Energy relationships and program management to mobilize on strategic sector opportunities, accelerate field engagement and drive action.
- Drive results through disciplined, industrialized governance with clear accountability across Global service lines/practices, sectors, priority accounts/regions and Microsoft counterparts.
- Provide actionable insights to Microsoft Alliance executives and EY Industrial & Energy leadership, including pipeline, performance, account activation and market observations.
- Support the identification, development and activation of Microsoft priority solutions and partner programs across Industrial & Energy, including local/regional activation and compliance requirements.
- Deliver alliance intelligence with complete and accurate financial reporting, Microsoft impact/influence, sector pipeline visibility and account activation insights.
- Identify and activate priority Industrial & Energy accounts, supporting business plans, executive relationship mapping, operating cadence and enabling alliance contracts where required.
- Drive compliance with internal policies, independence requirements, alliance governance and commercial requirements.
- Collaborate with enablement and Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) teams to define sector-specific messaging, sales collateral and campaign materials for Industrial & Energy execution.
- Partner with regional alliance, sector, account and BMC leaders to execute Industrial & Energy alliance marketing and enablement activities.
- Contribute to the Global Alliance and Ecosystem Relationship network through content development, knowledge sharing, market insights and leading practices relevant to Microsoft and Industrial & Energy.
This is a global role, optimally based in the US, UK or Europe. You can anticipate a mix of virtual work, regular coordination with Global and Regional teams, and some travel based on business need.
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role you must have:
- Provide leadership in relationship management, governance oversight, marketing strategy, contract management, financial management, content management, operational support, strong relationship building skills and highly organized.
- Deep Industrial & Energy industry expertise across Advanced Manufacturing, Industrial Products, Energy, Power & Utilities, Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Mining & Metals, Aerospace & Defense, and Mobility, with a strong understanding of the market, regulatory, sustainability, supply chain, data, AI, and technology trends driving growth, operational transformation, and innovation across the sector.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft ecosystem - including Azure, Data & AI, Security, Business Applications and Copilot - and the ability to position these capabilities against Industrial & Energy transformation priorities.
- Ability to translate Industrial & Energy client priorities into Microsoft-enabled alliance plays, joint go-to-market activities, pipeline acceleration and priority account activation.
- Experience in alliance management, business development, go-to-market activation or sector-led growth in a technology or professional services company.
- Experience and evidence of success in building and nurturing win-win alliance relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly credible communicator with excellent organization and project management skills and a proven track record delivering alliance sales, pipeline activation and revenue outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working across regions in a global alliance, partner or ecosystem-led sales model.
- Experience working in the Industrial & Energy sector
- Relevant Microsoft or enterprise technology certifications.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job is:
- New York City, Boston, and Washington DC Metro Areas, Washington State, and Southern California offices – $198,900 to $357,900
- Bay Area California offices – $207,100 to $372,900
- All other offices locations in the US, including Sacramento – $165,700 to $328,100
- Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
