SUMMARY
The Cold End Manager reports to the VP of operations and is responsible for the management and coordination of plant operations related to the Cold End Department. The primary objective is to improve the facility’s performance in inspecting and packing glassware.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing operations to ensure we meet quality and customer standards.
Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital.
Responsible for automated packing and selecting equipment, set and repack activity, packing methods, and lasers
Develop and manage all Cold End Training programs.
Assure attainment of business objectives, ensuring product standards that will exceed our customer’s expectations.
Collect and analyze data in order to manage department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Review daily results and monitor manning levels to validate corrective/preventive actions.
Analyze labor demand against production schedules to forecast future headcounts, shift models, and seasonal staffing adjustments.
Manage all controlled inventories into and out of the Cold End through SAP
Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports Arc’s strategic initiatives.
Work with Cold End department personnel and management team to develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives and productivity improvements.
Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact based problem solving and process improvement. Utilize tools for root cause analysis and lead initiatives for corrective actions.
Improve manpower utilization within the Cold End department through optimizing lean initiatives; minimize staffing fluctuations by working with scheduling dept.
Track and analyze spending against budget.
Define and validate yearly CAPEX for the department
Continually improve safety records by addressing both physical safety issues, employee safety attitudes (culture), and proactive safety initiatives.
Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.
Maintain communication with the Cold end population to drive optimal performance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides supervision to the superintendents and other personnel in the Cold End Department.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent experience, combined with 3 to 5+ years of operational leadership
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The role requires frequent standing, walking, and moving across large warehouse or production floors for 8 to 12 hours a day to oversee the packaging of products.
The production and storage environments include extreme temperatures (e.g., radiant heat near hot zones or unheated warehouse spaces), dust, and high noise levels
