Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. This role sits within the Strategy & Transformation organization, a global function providing strategic support to Global Supply Chain & Operations. The Manager, Strategic Insights will serve as the business process owner for a new supply chain competitive intelligence framework, connecting industry performance, competitive signals, and business priorities to bring outside-in perspectives to strategy development. This is a high-impact role that partners closely with global senior stakeholders to translate external intelligence into decision-ready insights, identify emerging opportunities, and inform strategic priorities that strengthen supply chain performance and competitive advantage.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Establish, govern, and continuously evolve the supply chain competitive intelligence framework, including its processes, intake and delivery model.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to define and prioritize intelligence needs aligned with business priorities, strategic decisions, and areas of uncertainty.
- Monitor and synthesize industry performance, competitor activity, and emerging supply chain signals.
- Research leading supply chain practices, capabilities, tools, and models across industries to identify relevant opportunities for adoption or differentiation.
- Lead targeted strategic research and analysis that address priority business questions and translate findings into clear implications and recommended actions.
- Develop concise, executive-ready intelligence briefs, perspectives, and other deliverables that connect external signals with internal context and support timely decision-making.
- Create and maintain a centralized internal repository of competitive insight needs, completed analyses, and key findings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Data Analytics or a related field.
- Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
Experience and Skills
Required Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in strategic insights, consulting, market research, business analytics, supply chain strategy, or related roles, with demonstrated impact in a complex, global organization.
- Demonstrated experience conducting competitive, market, or strategic research and synthesizing diverse sources into clear business insights and implications.
- Ability to communicate strategic insights and recommendations in a compelling, executive-ready manner that supports decision-making and action.
- Proven ability to partner cross‑functionally in a matrixed environment, including strategy, operations, and functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting supply chain, operations, or transformation initiatives in a global or highly regulated environment.
- Consulting or strategic advisory experience, with demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous business questions, identify credible sources, and conduct rigorous competitive and market analysis.
- Experience using external research platforms, industry benchmarks, and primary and secondary research methods to develop strategic insights.
- Experience supporting large‑scale change, transformation, or continuous improvement programs.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$102,000.00 to $155,771.00
