Mavida Health is an online therapy and psychiatry platform focused on supporting women through major transitional moments in life - from PMOS & PMDD through Menopause and everything in between. We provide integrated, evidence-based care through individual, group, and couples therapy as well as medication management, co-founded and led by reproductive psychiatrist Dr. Sarah Oreck.
Now a WPS Healthcare Company, Mavida Health combines the best of both worlds: the speed, autonomy, and impact of a high-growth startup with the resources and reach of a legacy healthcare organization. Our team is small, nimble, and mission-driven, which means ideas move quickly, decisions are made close to the work, and every employee plays a meaningful role in shaping the company's future. As we continue to grow, we're looking for people who are excited to build, innovate, and help redefine women's mental healthcare at scale.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a Business Development Associate – New Jersey to support Mavida Health's continued growth, patient acquisition, professional relationship development, and brand awareness throughout the New Jersey market.
Working closely with our Northeast Business Development Lead, you will help execute Mavida's regional growth strategy by developing and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals and community partners across New Jersey.
This is a full-time, field-based role with Mavida Health and a great opportunity for someone earlier in their business development career who is excited to build relationships, learn the healthcare landscape, and contribute to expanding access to women's mental healthcare.
While we have a multi-channel business development approach, relationships and referrals from professionals such as OB/GYNs, fertility clinics, doulas, midwives, and other healthcare providers are primary drivers of patient acquisition.
In this bonus-eligible position, you will help connect women in need of mental health support with Mavida's services while helping us continue to build our presence throughout New Jersey.
The business development consultant will:
- Support business development and referral growth efforts throughout the New Jersey market.
- Build and maintain relationships with OB/GYNs, midwives, doulas, lactation consultants, fertility clinics, primary care providers, mental health professionals, and other healthcare partners.
- Conduct consistent in-person outreach to practices and referral partners throughout the assigned territory.
- Serve as Mavida's "boots on the ground" in New Jersey and help increase awareness of our services within the local healthcare community.
- Work closely with the Northeast Business Development Lead to execute outreach strategies, identify new opportunities, and strengthen existing referral relationships.
- Research and identify prospective referral partners and healthcare organizations within the market.
- Coordinate and participate in provider meetings, office visits, educational opportunities, and other relationship-building activities.
- Follow up consistently with prospective and existing referral partners to maintain engagement and strengthen relationships.
- Document outreach, referral activity, and relationship management efforts accurately and consistently in HubSpot.
- Provide regular market updates and insights to the Head of Growth.
- Support monthly activity, referral, and admission goals.
- Represent Mavida at local conferences, networking opportunities, community events, and professional events when available.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure referral partners receive a high-quality and responsive experience.
- Be comfortable wearing multiple hats—even those that don't fit squarely and traditionally within your job description, because hey, we're a startup!
- Bachelor's degree.
- 1–2 years of experience in business development, sales, account management, community outreach, healthcare partnerships, or a related field preferred.
- Healthcare, behavioral health, women's health, pharmaceutical, or other healthcare-related experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong interest in developing a career in healthcare business development.
- Self-starter with a "no problem is too big or too small" attitude.
- Located in New Jersey and comfortable traveling throughout the assigned territory.
- Reliable transportation and ability to visit healthcare practices and community partners in person.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the confidence to initiate conversations with healthcare professionals.
- Ability to stay organized and manage a high volume of outreach and follow-up activities.
- Comfortable using CRM systems; HubSpot experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the Northeast Business Development Lead and broader Mavida team.
- Passion for women's healthcare, maternal healthcare, and/or mental healthcare—and the desire and drive to change the status quo.
KPIs:
- Performance will be evaluated based on a combination of:
- Monthly outreach and activity goals
- Referral partner development and engagement
- Monthly referral and admission goals
- Consistent and accurate CRM documentation
- Market development and relationship-building efforts
