ROLE OVERVIEW
Astrodyne TDI is seeking a commercially minded, technically credible Director of Product Management to drive growth within the Power Business Unit. This role blends product management, business development, systems engineering, and market strategy. You will spend time where products come to life: in the factory, alongside engineers and supply chain partners, and in front of customers. The successful candidate will understand complex electrical systems, identify where Astrodyne TDI can win, and convert customer and market requirements into clear product specifications and roadmaps.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Build and execute product and market strategies that differentiate Astrodyne TDI and accelerate profitable growth.
- Partner with the sales organization across multiple market segments to identify opportunities, prioritize target customers, and support new-business pursuits.
- Lead market, customer, competitor, and pricing analysis to inform product positioning, investment decisions, and go-to-market plans.
- Translate voice-of-customer insights into marketing requirements documents, early product specifications, and actionable roadmaps for engineering.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, applications teams, supply chain, operations, and manufacturing to evaluate technical fit, integration requirements, feasibility, and value.
- Develop and support complex technical proposals, business cases, product collateral, launch materials, and sales training.
- Serve as a product and market subject-matter expert in customer meetings, internal reviews, and industry events.
- Equip sales teams and manufacturer representatives with the knowledge and tools needed to position solutions effectively and close business.
WHAT YOU BRING – Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
- 5-10+ years of relevant experience in power electronics, complex electrical systems, product management, applications engineering, systems sales, program management, or technical business development.
- Demonstrated ability to connect technical requirements with commercial strategy, customer value, market opportunity, and competitive positioning.
- Experience developing product requirements, roadmaps, technical proposals, pricing strategies, and business plans.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage engineers, executives, sales teams, and customers.
- Analytical, curious, and decisive approach to problem solving and opportunity assessment.
- Ability to work onsite in Hackettstown, NJ and travel up to 20%.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
- MBA or advanced business education.
- Experience with switch-mode power supplies, power systems, or adjacent power electronics technologies.
- Experience within semiconductor equipment, medical, defense, aerospace, or industrial markets.
SALARY RANGE
$125,000-$150,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, and business considerations.
