Project Accountant
Construction Procurement Solutions, part of STO Building Group, is looking for a Project Accountant to join our growing team. The Project Accountant oversees the full-cycle monthly financial activity on projects, from project set-up through project close out in collaboration with the Operations team.

Key duties and responsibilities for this role include the following:
General Project Accounting
- Track contract values, project costs, purchase orders, change orders, milestone completion and profitability.
- Maintain project accounting records and supporting documentation in CMiC.
- Perform project-related reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies between project records and the accounting system.
- Assist with project forecasting and projected costs to complete.
- Assist with month-end and year-end project accounting and closeout.
- Participate in weekly project reviews and vendor status update with Accounting Manager.
- Track retainage and outstanding change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Set up new projects in accounting system (CMiC).
- Perform other duties and special tasks assigned.
- Verify and enter vendor invoice against purchase orders and contracts.
- Review lien waivers and process payment.
- Review and approve change orders and other potential change items for accuracy and compliance.
- Manage subcontractor progress billings and supporting documents for compliance and timely submission.
- Monitor vendor payment terms and maintain accurate AP aging.
Accounts Payable
Accounts Receivable & Project Billing
- Collaborate with Operations to confirm that equipment or services have been received and prepare monthly billing in contract format (G702, G703).
- Prepare system generated client requisitions and provide necessary supporting documents to client.
- Ensure proper billing is entered in CMiC timely.
- Monitor accounts receivable and support collection efforts. Communicate potential cash-flow or payment timing issues to accounting manager.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction, engineering, contracting, or project-based industry.
- Experience with project accounting, AR billing, and cost tracking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
- CMiC experience preferred (not required).

Salary: $80K - $90K
Compensation: In addition to base pay, eligible for discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
