The IT Analyst (Data) role plays a key part in supporting New Era’s data and analytics capabilities by turning raw data into trusted, actionable insight. Based at Headquarters, the Data Analyst works primarily within New Era’s Snowflake-based data platform, building and maintaining dashboards and reports in Power BI – with Tableau in the mix – that give business and IT stakeholders the visibility they need to make informed decisions. The role partners closely with the Data & Analytics and Enterprise Architecture teams to ensure data is accurate, well-modeled, and consistently defined across the organization.
The Information Technology team at New Era Cap enables the organization’s operations by delivering reliable, secure, and innovative technology solutions. They manage enterprise systems, infrastructure, and digital tools to support day-to-day business activities and enhance productivity across teams. The team partners cross-functionally to implement technology initiatives, provide technical support, and drive continuous improvement in system performance, data security, and user experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations in Power BI, with Tableau support where needed, to answer business questions and track KPIs
- Write and optimize SQL queries against Snowflake to extract, transform, and validate data for reporting and analysis
- Partner with business stakeholders across functions to gather requirements and translate business questions into data models and visualizations
- Build and maintain semantic layers, data models, and calculated measures (DAX) that support self-service analytics and consistent metric definitions
- Monitor data quality, integrity, and pipeline health across Snowflake data sources, flagging and helping resolve discrepancies
- Support and document data pipelines feeding Snowflake, partnering with the data engineering team on ingestion tools such as Fivetran where applicable
- Maintain data dictionaries, report documentation, and metric definitions so reporting stays consistent and auditable across teams
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture and data platform teams on Snowflake performance tuning, warehouse usage, and cost optimization
- Provide ad hoc data analysis and reporting to support leadership decision-making
- Support migration and consolidation of legacy reports into Power BI and Snowflake
- Stay current on Power BI, Tableau, and Snowflake platform capabilities, including AI-assisted analytics features, and recommend improvements to reporting practices
- Keep all sensitive matters confidential

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Deep, hands-on expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and report/dashboard design
- Working knowledge of Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse), including SQL query writing and performance considerations
- Familiarity with Tableau for data visualization and reporting
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling and star/snowflake schema design
- Comfortable working directly with business stakeholders – gathering requirements, explaining data findings, and building trusted relationships
- Skilled at translating ambiguous business questions into clear, structured data analysis
- Effective communicator who can distill complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong data validation and troubleshooting instincts
- Able to manage multiple reporting requests and priorities in a fast-paced, global environment
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and data integration tools such as Fivetran is a plus
- Proficient across Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
- 4+ years of hands-on experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI, including DAX and data modeling, is required
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse platform is required
- Experience with Tableau is strongly preferred
- Strong SQL skills, with demonstrated experience querying and manipulating large datasets
- Experience with data pipeline/ELT tools such as Fivetran or dbt is a plus, but not required
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, SnowPro Core, or a similar certification is a plus
- Experience in the consumer products, retail, or apparel industry preferred

The salary range for this posted position is $85,000 - $105,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation will fall within this range and is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
