Accounting Specialist - Accounts Payable
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support Accounts Payable and related accounting activities at our Buena, NJ manufacturing facility. This is a fully onsite, hourly position, Monday through Friday.
This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, payments, reconciliations, and other Accounts Payable activities while also contributing to month-end close responsibilities and various financial projects.
The Accounting Specialist will review, verify, and process vendor invoices to ensure proper approvals, accurate coding, and compliance with company policies. This position will also match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate vendor records and balances.
Additional responsibilities include preparing weekly vendor payment runs through ACH, wire, and check payments; completing bank, credit card, and other applicable reconciliations; responding to vendor inquiries; resolving payment-related issues; and providing supporting documentation for internal and external audit requests.
Working closely with Finance, Purchasing, Operations, and other plant functions, the Accounting Specialist will help maintain accurate financial records and support the timely completion of month-end accounting activities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, excellent attention to detail, and proven analytical and problem-solving skills. This individual should be highly self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required. Previous accounting experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience working with IQMS or another ERP system is also highly valued.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative and dependable professional who demonstrates strong customer service, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize and execute responsibilities with minimal supervision.
The hourly pay range for this position is $28.00–$32.00 per hour. The final rate offered will be based on factors such as relevant accounting experience, manufacturing industry experience, education, technical skills, ERP experience, and overall qualifications.
