STV’s Water Resources practice supports clients in addressing some of today’s most challenging water-related issues, including stormwater management, flooding, drainage, watershed planning, flood protection, and infrastructure resilience.
We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our growing team and support a diverse portfolio of stormwater, hydrologic and hydraulic, floodplain management, and water resources projects. The successful candidate will have a strong technical foundation in water resources engineering and demonstrated experience with stormwater management and floodplain mapping/modeling.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex water resources challenges, working with multidisciplinary teams, and developing practical solutions for public-sector and infrastructure clients.
What You’ll Do
As a Water Resources Engineer, you will contribute to the planning, analysis, design, and delivery of water resources projects. Responsibilities may include:
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for watersheds, drainage systems, streams, rivers, and floodplains.
- Develop, modify, calibrate, and review hydrologic and hydraulic models.
- Perform floodplain studies and mapping analyses in support of State and local floodplain management programs.
- Support preparation of C/LOMR studies, floodplain mapping updates, and related flood-risk analyses.
- Perform stormwater management and drainage studies for municipal, site development, and infrastructure projects.
- Evaluate existing drainage and flood-control systems and develop recommendations for improvements.
- Design and evaluate stormwater management facilities, drainage systems, culverts, channels, detention/retention facilities, and related infrastructure.
- Perform watershed delineation, drainage-area analysis, and spatial analysis using GIS.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical memoranda, reports, exhibits, maps, and other project documentation.
- Assist with preparation of plans, specifications, technical requirements, and construction documents.
- Support permitting and coordination with municipal, state, and federal agencies.
- Participate in field investigations, site assessments, and data collection.
- Coordinate with civil, transportation, environmental, structural, geotechnical, GIS, and other technical disciplines.
- Assist project managers with project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
