About Imogen Foundation

Imogen Foundation provides school-based afterschool programs for children and teens across New York City. Through enrichment, sports and leadership, project-based learning, and community engagement, we support young people's social and emotional development, confidence, independence, and sense of belonging.

Our work is grounded in listening. We believe people grow when they are supported, challenged, respected, and given opportunities to contribute. That applies to the children and families we serve, and to the people who work here.

IF has grown significantly, and we expect to continue growing. We are investing in the people, systems, and relationships that will sustain that growth while remaining true to our mission and values.

We believe kindness, accountability, and professionalism belong together. We are building an in-person workplace where colleagues listen to one another, approach problems thoughtfully, respect differences, and take shared responsibility for the quality of our work. Our goal is for IF to be the best place in the world to work. Our HR Manager will work with every department to help make sure that it is.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, mission-driven Human Resources & People Operations Manager who is excited to help shape a rapidly growing organization dedicated to building a more compassionate and connected world.

You will lead an existing HR team, oversee the employee lifecycle, and collaborate with department leaders to strengthen recruitment, onboarding, employee development, and organizational practices. You will also serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers on workplace concerns, employment policies, benefits, and compliance.

This is a hands-on management role for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, developing people, and taking ownership of their work. We value initiative, sound judgment, follow-through, and the ability to balance empathy with accountability.

IF has a strong tradition of developing leaders and promoting from within. As our organization grows, we want our people to grow with us. For an ambitious HR professional who shares our values and is ready to work hard, this position offers an opportunity to help shape our People function while growing into broader organizational leadership.
