- Serve as the primary permitting relationship owner for assigned clients, maintaining strong relationships and identifying opportunities to strengthen and expand client partnerships.
- Manage complex, high-profile, and high-stakes projects, providing hands-on oversight and serving as the primary point of engagement for clients and key stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, financial performance, and deliverables, proactively identifying risks, addressing variances, and implementing solutions before issues escalate.
- Coordinate with internal project teams, supporting departments, and leadership to ensure effective resource allocation, communication, and project execution.
- Communicate project updates, challenges, and resolutions to clients and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage project escalations by identifying roadblocks, exercising sound judgment, and engaging the appropriate internal stakeholders to drive timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including project history, client communications, decisions, financial information, and current status updates.
- Attend planning board meetings and present permitting-related information and project updates as needed.
- Collaborate with Sales leadership to identify opportunities for additional services, account growth, and change orders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including the development of project management practices, templates, tools, and standard operating procedures.
- Share knowledge and lessons learned with colleagues to support consistent project delivery and best practices across the department.
What You'll Bring
Required:
- 7+ years of progressive experience in permitting, construction management, or a related field.
- Proven experience independently managing multiple concurrent projects and complex client engagements.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working with municipal agencies, regulatory processes, and permitting jurisdictions.
- Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively identify risks and manage competing priorities.
- Exceptional communication and client relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, internal teams, and senior leadership.
