Job Description

Due to growth, we are currently adding a Junior Accountant to our team.  The Junior Corporate Accountant will assist with day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and recordkeeping for Sika organization. This position supports the accounting team by ensuring accurate data entry, reconciliation, and compliance with accounting standards. It’s an excellent opportunity to build a foundation in corporate accounting and gain exposure to financial management in a professional environment.

  • Assist in preparing and posting journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Perform account reconciliations (e.g. prepaid expenses, other receivables, accrued expenses, and/or intercompany accounts).
  • Maintain and update accounting records and documentation.
  • Support external audits by gathering and organizing financial documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS).
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy in financial data.

Annual Salary: $60,000-$70,000

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance,
  • 0–2 years of relevant accounting experience (internships or co-op experience a plus).
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, ad-hoc reports, and accounting software (such as BI, SAP, or similar ERP systems).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a corporate finance environment.
  • Exposure to ERP systems or advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, PivotTables).
  • Familiarity with financial analysis.
