The MAX Fitness & Wellness of Hillsborough is looking for an energetic, experienced Group Fitness Instructor to step into four established weekly 45-minute classes and make an immediate impact.

Our biggest need right now is:

Wednesday | 5:00 AM – HIIT
Wednesday | 6:00 AM – HIIT
Friday | 4:30 PM – Cardio Kickboxing
Friday | 6:00 PM – Cardio Kickboxing

Ideally, we would love to find one instructor who can own all four classes, but we encourage you to apply if you have strong experience in either HIIT or cardio kickboxing and can cover part of the schedule.

These aren't classes you need to build from zero. Hillsborough has a strong community of longtime MAX members, above-average class participation, a knowledgeable and supportive team, and members who want to be coached, challenged, and motivated.

We're looking for someone who can walk into a room and create an experience.

The ideal candidate will know how to:

Bring energy without making it feel forced
Coach a room while still connecting with individuals
Push experienced members while making newer members feel successful
Use music, movement, personality, and coaching to create momentum
Correct form and provide modifications without stopping the flow of class
Remember names, celebrate progress, and build relationships
Make members want to come back for the next class

At MAX, our instructors are a major part of the member experience. The right coach doesn't just lead a great workout, they help build attendance, retention, confidence, and community.

Previous kickboxing experience is highly preferred. However, we're willing to train the right experienced group fitness instructor who brings strong coaching ability, personality, professionalism, and a willingness to learn the MAX format.

A nationally accredited fitness certification is accepted and preferred.

Current CPR/AED certification is required.

The Opportunity

This is a part-time position centered around the four classes listed above.

There will also be opportunities to:

Pick up additional permanent classes as they become available
Cover classes for other instructors
Expand into additional MAX class formats
Increase compensation after earning the MAX-specific instructor certification
Grow your role as our schedule and member community continue to grow

If you're looking to teach 25 classes per week, this probably isn't the position.

But if you're looking for a few established classes where you can walk in, build relationships, bring your personality, and make a noticeable impact, we'd love to meet you.
