We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Fabrication Assistant to support daily production tracking, documentation, and reporting within our fabrication and production environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, coordinating essential paperwork, and keeping workflow information current across departments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update panel reconciliation sheets by cross-referencing production data with QC logs and closing out completed panels.
- Manage Press Brake Sheets and accurately allocate production time through the dashboard.
- Update the Panel Backlog Sheet by reconciling completed QC data with in-house counts and distributing updates to department heads.
- Compile and distribute the Weekly Shop Summary Package.
- Prepare the Monthly Backlog Report, summarizing total panels fabricated by project.
- Track fabrication drawings through each stage, including released, batched, and shipped.
- Generate packing slips, carrier documentation, and Bills of Lading through various cloud-based systems.
- Distribute shipping documentation to supervisors and ensure returned and scanned paperwork is properly filed in job folders.
- Process daily timecards and prepare weekly payroll documentation.
- Print and distribute daily supply lists to support shop operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation across departments and serve as backup for additional operational functions as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience using web-based systems (e.g., ERP, scheduling or cloud platforms)
- Strong data entry and reporting skills with high attention to detail
- Experience providing administrative support in a fast-paced environment
- Solid problem-solving skills with strong follow-through
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills
- Strong time management and prioritization, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
