Job Summary
At this time, only current PSEG employees are being considered.
Provides technical expertise as well as functional support for the Outage Management System (OMS) and associated core applications across Electric Operations including but not limited to Asset Management & Centralized Services, Information Technology, Customer Operations, and Legal/Claims. This position serves as a clearinghouse for all OMS related and dependent platform issues and requests – planned or emergent. Provide core, hands-on OMS training, guidance, and support to both MAST and Union field associates, partners with Information Technology, Customer Operations, Asset Management and outside vendors to develop and implement new technologies, upgrades, systems, processes and procedures in accordance with Company and Utility benchmark standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible to help support the Delivery Operations Support (DOS) group as it pertains to daily and ad hoc operational Utility reporting metrics inluding PORs, storm reporting, as well as such as CAIDI, MAIFI, SAIFI, and SAIDI.
- Provides process and on-site support for systems, applications, and work management processes as it pertains to day-to-day as well as storm restoration activities.
- Provides the full range of technical expertise and functional support for OMS including hands-on training and OMS Modeling (creating outage scenarios, etc.).
- Responsible for participation and engagement in annual system restoration drills and exercises.
- Partners with IT on all technology-related initiatives, issues, and projects associated with OMS and related core applications. This is inclusive of, but not limited to process flows, hardware/software, infrastructure, reliability, and contingencies.
- Provides responses to data requests/various business/equipment metrics to Electric Operations and all business partners across Enterprise.
- Designs, develops and implements upgrades and new technologies and associated processes with client groups. Interfaces with internal staff and clients, outside contractors, and vendors, designers and consultants on all issues related to OMS and core applications. Key input and stakeholder for OMS and associated system upgrades.
- Responsible for full engagement/involvement – both remotely as well as on-site – for electric system abnormalities including but not limited to small and large storm events. This responsibility includes process and system monitoring as well as all aspects of ad-hoc support for Electric Operations and all internal Enterprise business partners as it pertains to system restoration, customer communications and satisfaction.
- In partnership with the local operating division, DOS, and Emergency Preparedness, serve as local process and strategy owner of the Estimated Time of Restoration (ETR) process in OMS – both during blue-sky days as well as during storm events and other outages/emergencies.
Job Specific Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, and 6 years’ related experience.
- In lieu of a degree; must have High School Diploma or GED and 10 years related experience.
- Advanced technical and functional expertise in OMS, Computer-Aided Dispatching (CAD), and other related systems and platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to train OMS users which involves transferring technical knowledge to non-technical end users – both MAST and Union.
- Proven success at leading teams and effectively handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Electric Operations processes, policies, and procedures - including knowledge in Electric Distribution Operation and Maintenance, storm processes, and other work management process flows.
- Strong oral/presentation, as well as written communications skills.
- Proven analytical ability and strong organizational and computer skills.
- Will be expected to be available 24/7 and perform on-call duties as they pertain to storms and other emergencies, as well as IT platform/system outages (local or system-wide) and contingencies to ensure related continuity of business operations is maintained.
- Will require on-site presence in an operating division in the field.
- Must also be available to back up peer group in times of high volume or absence.
- Serve as representative to the Line of Business to internal and external stakeholders (IT, Customer Operations, AMCS, and outside vendors) as it pertains to hardware, software, infrastructure, system architecture, testing, process flows, and end-user capability of the OMS and related systems.
- Must possess a valid U. S. driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
