Summary: The Marketing Specialist position involves providing marketing, public affairs, and events support to help The Arc Gloucester achieve its mission, vision & goals.
Position Part-time, Non-Exempt. This position involves travel within Gloucester County, working within offices and from facilities owned & operated by The Arc Gloucester. The majority of working hours are daytime, weekdays. Weekend hours approximately time per month. Flexible availability is a must. Locations available throughout Gloucester County. This position is supervised by the Fundraising and Events Coordinator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage agency social media platform, generating posts and developing eblasts.
- Under supervision creates the development of public information documents, articles, and press releases designed to inform the public of employer’s programs, positions and accomplishments. Assists with the preparation and distribution of articles, photographs, documentaries, and releases to media representatives.
- Creates new marketing and advertising materials, newsletter and special presentations
- Generates acknowledgement communication.
- Assists with arrangements and conducts public contact programs using knowledge of individuals served attitudes and the agency’s positions and goals. Under guidance, answers questions to promote goodwill toward the agency with stakeholders, media and vendors. Represents the agency during community projects and at public, social and business gatherings.
- Helps to develop year-end appeal and an annual campaign
- Participates on various committees as directed
- Plan and execute successful fundraising and community awareness events of all sizes.
- Work with coworkers to implement and maintain a social media strategy for all the community events (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc)
- Promote, book, and administer all events at the Sunshine Inn, including hosting as needed
- Primary department, work location and schedule may vary

- Comply with the DDD Program Manual, The Arc Gloucester Policies and Procedures Manual and applicable state, local and federal regulations, including any COVID-19 vaccination mandates & policies
- Must cooperate and participate in reviews, investigations, and inspections, including but not limited to cooperation with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation
- Occasional management responsibilities, including assisting with trainings, planning, workflow, and problem solving
- Additional responsibilities as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field, such as public relations or communications required and be 18 years of age or older. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities preferred
- Must have a current, non-probationary driver’s license with 5 points or less, and deemed acceptable to drive by The Arc Gloucester’s liability insurance company, valid in the state of New Jersey
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite & databases
- Professional experience with website, e-blast, design programs, social media
- Proficient in basic computer, math, reading comprehension and verbal and written communication skills
- Successfully pass initial and ongoing Federal & State Criminal Background checks, Fingerprinting, Central Registry, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), Child Abuse Record Information (CARI), Health Screenings, Employment Verifications & References & Drug testing/ All employees must submit to a criminal background check, and be determined to be not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to working with individuals served, agree to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities, shall complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI), shall submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for cause. all employees hired after 6/15/18 shall submit to drug testing prior to employment
- Certified in CPR/First Aid, preferred
- Successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training
