MAJOR FUNCTION:
Position Summary
The Oncology Nurse Navigator I serves as a patient-centered clinical resource and advocate, guiding oncology patients and their families through the continuum of cancer care. Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team, the Navigator facilitates timely access to care, reduces barriers to treatment, promotes patient education, and supports adherence to evidence-based treatment plans. The Navigator coordinates care delivery, provides psychosocial support, and assists in program quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes and patient experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience; oncology nursing experience preferred
Certification/ Licensure:
- Mandatory Navigation Training Competency & participate in Oncology Nursing competencies at time of hire.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of New Jersey.
- BLS required.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Nurse Navigation Certification through the (AONN) or like certification preferred.
