The Opportunity
Adept is seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer to support packaging initiatives focused on cost savings, quality improvement, innovation, and sustainability. In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to move projects from concept through implementation.
You will help develop packaging specifications, coordinate and lead production-line trials, conduct laboratory testing, evaluate results, and ensure projects remain on track. The ideal candidate is a creative and agile problem-solver who can balance big-picture objectives with the technical details required to deliver effective packaging solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Support packaging projects focused on cost optimization, quality improvement, innovation, and sustainability
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and manufacturing partners
- Coordinate and lead packaging trials, including production-line testing
- Conduct laboratory testing, evaluate results, and document findings
- Develop, review, and maintain packaging material specifications
- Manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting established deadlines
- Communicate project updates, technical findings, risks, and recommendations across cross-functional teams
- Support packaging solutions involving flexible films, folding cartons, and corrugated materials
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field
- 3–5+ years of experience in packaging engineering or packaging development
- Working knowledge of flexible films, folding cartons, and corrugated packaging
- Experience collaborating within a cross-functional organization
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple activities and priorities efficiently
- Strong project coordination, organization, and problem-solving skills
- A creative, innovative mindset and the ability to learn quickly and adapt in an agile environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Packaging experience within the food or consumer packaged goods industry
- Experience supporting confectionery or candy packaging
- Experience coordinating manufacturing trials and transitioning packaging solutions into production
Travel
Travel may be required based on project needs and client engagement requirements.
