- This role provides a high impact opportunity to lead critical Sales Operations capabilities directly supporting Taiho Oncology’s commercial strategy, including sales data reporting, incentive compensation, fleet operations, field support processes, vendor partnerships, sales force automation and operational decision support for senior Commercial leadership.
Position Summary:
- The Senior Director, Sales Operations serves as a strategic leader and trusted business partner to Commercial leadership, overseeing the operational infrastructure enabling sales force effectiveness and business performance. This role is accountable for sales operations capabilities including incentive compensation, analytics, CRM and sales force automation, territory alignment, reporting, data stewardship, fleet management, vendor partnerships, budgeting, and business planning. The Senior Director delivers actionable insights to support decision making, ensures the integrity and effective use of commercial data, develops a high performing team, and leverages advanced analytics, automation and AI-driven capabilities to improve operational efficiency, sales performance and business outcomes.
Performance Objectives:
- Oversee Sales Operations capabilities to ensure timely, accurate, and high quality collection, analysis, stewardship and reporting of sales data.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Commercial leadership to align commercial strategy, field execution, performance reporting and decision support needs.
- Lead the design, modeling, administration and communication of incentive compensation plans, ensuring plans are fair, clearly understood, motivating and aligned to commercial objectives.
- Update and inform sales management on incentive compensation payouts, trends, modeling and related performance insights.
- Oversee field operations infrastructure, including fleet operations, vehicle administration, field sales onboarding support, credentialing, sales roster management, CRM, and related vendor partnerships.
- Manage databases and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to gather, analyze, audit and report field sales data.
- Monitor department performance against key performance indicators and implement improvement strategies, including process innovation and vendor-enabled efficiencies.
- Implement customer targeting, reporting tools, sales force sizing, deployment strategies and syndicated data analysis to support sales promotion and evaluate sales productivity and performance.
- Sponsor sales force automation and decision support system implementations or upgrades, including business requirements, design review, user acceptance testing, training and vendor coordination.
- Manage the department budget and perform annual business planning.
- Lead, coach and develop the Sales Operations team by setting clear expectations, providing timely feedback, supporting development, promoting collaboration and recognizing performance.
Education/Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 10+ years of Commercial or Sales Operations experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Strong understanding of oncology market dynamics and data sources used within the industry.
- Experience with incentive compensation analytics, sales operations processes, field operations support, fleet program management, and vendor partnerships.
- Expertise in CRM platforms, sales force automation, syndicated data, reporting tools, and commercial decision support systems.
- Strong analytical, decision making, operational planning, budget management and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, including senior business leaders and executives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create clear process communications and present to senior executives.
- Positive attitude, flexibility, proactive approach and ability to lead effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using AI models.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $250,750-$295,000 annually. This pay range is based on the market range for positions of this type. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including annual bonus/incentive comp plans, potential long term incentive plan, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate/employee receives an offer of employment.
