POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Associate Director of Health & Wellness - Fitness, the Evening/Weekend Supervisor is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for all members and guests regardless of background or abilities; and working with the Facilities team to ensure the cleanliness, safety, appearance and proper function of YMCA property and systems. The Evening/Weekend Supervisor serves as a vital connection between evening/weekend building operations and the Full-Time Staff and Leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ensures the safety and cleanliness of the YMCA and serves as Manager on Duty on assigned nights. Ensures that the Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties associated with the care and maintenance of all major YMCA systems and equipment Records and reports all needed repairs Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shifts and reports ALL incidents, needed repairs and hazardous conditions to supervisor Other tasks and projects, as assigned

As Manager on Duty, acts as the representative of the Full-Time Staff in the event that no Full-Time Staff are on site Communication Skills Informs team members and/or supervisor(s) of work-related topics, including, but not limited to: Building-wide issues or concerns Desired/necessary schedule changes & coverage requests Cultivates a positive member experience through kind and thoughtful engagement Operational Effectiveness Completes tasks in a timely manner and escalates issues when appropriate Follows and implements all SOPs and EAPs, when necessary Collaboration Knowledge and understanding of each department’s unique needs and requirements

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to comprehend product labels and instructions to ensure safe product handling. Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, their safety, and efficient use. Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of YMCA equipment, and major facility systems Maintains reports and records of maintenance requests. Ability to analyze and respond to safety and emergency situations. Interacts in a positive manner with members, guests, and team. Possess and maintain certifications in CPR/AED and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer. Completes required Praesidium training within 30 days of hire. Completes additional training, as assigned. Knowledge and use of hand tools, required. Background in facility management, strongly preferred. Knowledge of large mechanical systems, or history of trade work, preferred. Experience with power tools, preferred.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to: climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for an extended period of time, climb ladders, walk, shovel snow, plow snow, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual perception. YMCA building equipment and systems can be heavy. Ability to lift 50lbs is required. The work is performed both indoors and out. While performing the duties of this job the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
