We're looking for a Platform Engineering Intern to join our infrastructure team and help us automate, maintain, and improve the systems that keep our engineering organization running. This is a hands-on infrastructure role supporting a hybrid environment that includes VMware virtualization and both Windows and Linux servers, with exposure to infrastructure as code practices using Terraform and Ansible. This is not a software development or data engineering role. You won't be building applications or data pipelines. You'll be automating and managing the systems everything else runs on.
We're looking for someone who genuinely loves building and automating things, the kind of person who'd rather write a playbook than repeat a manual task three times, and who tinkers with systems on their own time because it's fun, not just for a grade. If you've got a home lab, dotfiles repo, or personal automation projects on GitHub, we'd love to see them.
We're looking for someone currently enrolled in, or who has recently completed, a degree or program in computer science, IT, systems administration, or a related field. Equivalent self-directed learning that you can show us is also welcome. You should have basic scripting ability in any language, such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, applied to automating tasks rather than building applications. You should also be comfortable working from a command line on both Windows and Linux and have a genuine curiosity about how systems, networks, and servers work.
