The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Junior Paralegal to join our Closing Team. This is a true entry-level position designed for an individual looking to begin a career in the legal field while gaining exposure to real estate transactions, lending, corporate matters, and private equity real estate operations.
The Junior Paralegal will primarily provide clerical, administrative, and document-management support to the Closing team. Responsibilities will include organizing legal files, preparing and processing documents, coordinating signatures, maintaining corporate and transaction records, assisting with closings, and performing general administrative duties.
No prior paralegal or real estate legal experience is required. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, comfortable working with a high volume of documents, and eager to learn.
What you will do:
Legal & Administrative Support:
- Provide day-to-day administrative and clerical support to our internal counsel and Closing team.
- Create, organize, maintain, scan, copy, and electronically file legal, financial, and corporate documents.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical legal files in accordance with company filing and document-retention procedures.
- Assist with preparing routine legal documents, correspondence, forms, cover letters, and document packages using established templates.
- Proofread documents for formatting, completeness, dates, signatures, and basic clerical accuracy.
- Perform data entry and update legal trackers, spreadsheets, databases, and internal systems.
- Monitor and organize incoming legal correspondence and documents.
- Assist with scheduling, calendars, reminders, and administrative follow-up for the Closing team.
- Create post-closing reports for investors.
Corporate Records & Entity Administration:
- Maintain organized records for company entities, subsidiaries, investment entities, and special-purpose entities.
- Assist with filing and maintaining organizational documents such as formation documents, operating agreements, resolutions, consents, and certificates.
- Maintain entity lists and organizational records.
- Assist with obtaining certificates of good standing and other publicly available corporate records.
- Assist with preparing routine corporate documents using approved templates.
- Track signatures and maintain fully executed corporate records.
General Division Support:
- Assist with invoices, legal bills, and administrative tracking when requested.
- Coordinate mailings, overnight packages, scanning, printing, copying, and other routine office functions.
- Assist with special projects and administrative assignments for the Legal team.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding company, employee, investor, borrower, and transaction information.
- Perform other administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
Wage Range:$20-$25/hr
What you will bring to the table:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 0–1 years of professional experience; prior paralegal experience is not required.
- Previous internship, office, administrative, clerical, legal, banking, mortgage, or real estate experience is helpful but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately manage and organize a high volume of documents.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong willingness to learn about the DSCR/private lending in the world of real estate.
