Finance Controller Associate Manager
ECP Channel (Eye Care Partners - Opticians, Optometrists, Ophthalmologists) – North America
Location: Secaucus, NJ – Reports to: Senior Finance Manager, NA
About the role
We are looking for a Finance Business Partner who wants to sit at the table where commercial decisions are actually made. In the ECP channel we serve thousands of independent eyecare professionals across the U.S. – a fragmented, relationship-driven business where pricing, trade terms, field coverage and cost-to-serve decide whether growth turns into profit.
You will own the P&L narrative of the channel, challenge the numbers behind commercial proposals, and give Sales leadership the clarity they need to invest where returns are real.
What you will do
- Own budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning for the ECP channel, translating commercial ambition into credible numbers aligned with corporate objectives.
- Run the channel P&L end to end: net sales, gross margin, trade spend, direct commercial costs –
explaining variances and turning them into concrete actions on revenue, mix and profitability.
- Evaluate commercial agreements, trade terms, rebates, discounts, promotions and customer incentive programs; model the economics before they are signed and monitor accrual accuracy afterwards.
- Partner with Sales on sales force effectiveness: commission and bonus plans, quota setting, territory coverage, cost-to-serve and payback analysis on new or replacement sales rep hires across the U.S.
- Lead monthly close activities with Accounting – accruals, rebate and commission provisions, variance analysis – ensuring the reported numbers are right the first time.
- Build financial models, scenario analyses and executive-ready presentations that support pricing moves, portfolio decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Act as the bridge between local commercial operations and corporate finance, safeguarding compliance with company policies while keeping the business moving fast.
- Improve the toolkit: better reporting, cleaner data, sharper dashboards – we expect you to leave the process better than you found it.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business; MBA or CPA/CMA is a plus.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, commercial finance or business controlling – ideally in consumer goods, wholesale, retail, medical devices or a comparable multi-customer environment.
- Proven track record as a business partner to Sales or Commercial teams, including exposure to trade terms, rebates and incentive schemes.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; solid command of ERP (SAP preferred) and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau or similar).
- Strong analytical rigor combined with the ability to explain complex economics in plain business language.
- Comfortable working in a matrix, multinational organization and managing multiple deadlines without losing accuracy.
- Curious, hands-on, and comfortable saying “the numbers don’t support this” when they don’t.
Key stakeholders
- Senior Finance Manager and NA Finance leadership
- Commercial Leadership and Regional Sales Directors
- Accounting and Business Controlling
- Sales Representatives and Strategic Account Managers
