OverviewThe Project Engineer IV is highly motivated and capable individual with experience in clean energy & energy efficiency implementation. In this role the candidate will be challenged to help navigate and implement a major energy providers green energy initiatives and guide internal and external stakeholders through the application process to ensure timely and accurate project submittals through payment. Understand portfolio metrics and ensure team compliance to goal and KPI attainment. Highly accountable with excellent time management skill.
Responsibilities- The candidate is responsible for providing technical assistance and guidance on energy-efficient technologies and practices to internal and external program stakeholders including but not limited to customers, architects, engineers, contractors, and other trade allies participating in the utility-sponsored programs
- Must have a strong understanding of the New Jersey Technical Reference Manual (NJ TRM) and other local, regional and national TRMs that provide guidance on energy savings methodologies.
- Deep understanding of program Evaluation requirements to ensure optimized energy savings for each and every project
- Must be able to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences. Prepare and review technical specifications and energy savings calculations for commercial and industrial energy efficiency measures and projects.
- Build and maintain relationships with key market actors in the energy efficiency industry including architects, engineers, contractors, and customers.
- Maintain strong ongoing communications with participating service providers and consultants in order to assess their needs and to receive feedback on their experience with the program.
- Conduct program trainings as needed for prospective participants, project processors and engineering staff. Assess whole building efficiency strategies, building plans and specifications, and make recommendations for custom energy efficiency upgrades or improvements.
- Prepare status reports to accurately describe activities within projects and to monitor progress towards program goals on contractor/consultant participation and the completion of eligible projects.
- Coordinate with or follow up on program Quality Assurance activities such as inspections and customer surveys, as appropriate. the stewardship of utility ratepayer dollars and the overall improvement of our community.
- Engage with and provide day to day direction to engineering staff to ensure timely and accurate progression of projects through the pipeline
- Onboard and train new engineering staff and effectively manage performance to ensure timely attention to pipeline and to goal attainment
- Understand contractual requirements and KPIs and distill them into staff performance metrics
- Participate in and attend Trade Ally events and trainings.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Responsible for maintenance and fees of the transportation vehicle.
Qualifications- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Ability to attend site visits throughout the State of New Jersey.
- Strong computer and record-keeping skills: proficiency in MS Excel, programming, and use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
- Ability to handle a high volume of combined inquiries, workbook, database, and documentation reviews.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, exception reporting, and data analysis.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude and ability to work effectively across different teams.
- Ability to work with culturally diverse customers and contractors effectively and respectfully.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- 5+ years of work experience in HVAC design, energy engineering or similar consulting engineering work
- Experience with energy and/or utility industry
- Experience with energy modeling platforms
- Understanding of one or multiple segments of building systems (mechanical. electrical. plumbing. architectural. structural) a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to interface with customers and contractors; host and prepare training materials and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Project management skills
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with up to 5 years of professional experience. Considered an emerging authority and SME in related discipline.
- 1–5 years of experience in QA/QC, data analysis, forecasting, pipeline management, or accounts receivable.
- Experience working with contractors, vendors, or Trade Allies preferred.
- Technical, engineering, sustainability, LEED, CEM, or energy-related background or credentials are a plus.
- Candidate will be required to travel to Trade Ally events and trainings as required (approximately 10% within the State of New Jersey). Candidate will also be expected to work from the TRC New Jersey office, located at 317 George Street, Suite 520, New Brunswick, NJ 08901.
NOTE: Candidate must be New Jersey Resident and reside in New Jersey.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
