Job Summary:
Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments. Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms. Performs any combination of the following tasks to maintain guestrooms, working areas, and the hotel premises in general in a clean and orderly manner.
Responsibilities:
In addition to general housekeeping, the housekeeper duties in the boutique hotel environment will include:
- Always provides professional and courteous service.
- Engage in team and department meetings.
- Practice effective time management to prioritize relative duties at they pertain to the team and business.
- Conduct inventories as required.
- Inspect and maintain all public spaces, mechanical equipment and storage areas.
- Consistently maintain the hotel’s appearance, with quality and attention to detail always in mind. This includes the grounds and landscaping, as well as performing outside custodial duties such as snow removal.
- Ensure all projects are completed on time, exercising a sense of urgency to best accommodate guests.
- Understand and practice proper lock out-tag out procedures in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Perform all guestroom and public area preventive maintenance services as outlined for the hotel to optimize the guest experience.
- Practice and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Identify areas of opportunity and contribute to the growth of the hotel with a hands-on implementation strategy.
- Conduct day-to-day business with integrity, making decisions on behalf of the hotel, team and guests.
- Think and plan long term as it relates to the company, market, economy and competition.
- Vacuum the lobby and clean lobby restrooms.
- Sweep the assigned areas, throw out the garbage, remove dirty sheets from the rooms.
- Wash gowns and dirty laundry in the morning.
- Put a refrigerator in the rooms when needed and extra beds.
- Fill closets with towels.
- Be available for any additional work such as unclogging bathrooms, cleaning the parking lot, washing the carpets in the rooms, changing a light, among others.
- Ensuring the confidentiality and security of guest rooms.
- Follow all company safety and security procedures.
- Report any maintenance problems or safety hazards to the supervisor or manager in charge.
- Observe and report damage to hotel property.
- Follow and abide by all the instructions of the supervisor or manager in charge.
Requirements:

- React quickly in emergency situations.
- Make decisions based on your own judgment and company policy.

- Be available for work during days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
