Overview
The Executive Director, Stakeholder Advocacy is a critical leadership position responsible for providing senior-level leadership to our stakeholder advocacy efforts. This role ensures alignment with our mission to improve the lives of patients with allergic, inflammatory and autoimmune disorders. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in advocacy, along with a strong knowledge of relevant public and private policies impacting the biopharma and pharmaceutical market.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to stakeholder advocacy efforts, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
- Act as a liaison to Executive Management, representing the interests and perspectives of the advocacy stakeholders.
- Stay informed about market dynamics, policy changes, and public perception issues related to the biopharma and pharmaceutical industry. Develop and implement strategies/tactics to take advantage of changing market dynamics.
- Develop and implement comprehensive advocacy strategies that support the Celldex mission and business objectives.
- Monitor and understand private and public policy impacts and payer challenges, ensuring our products remain accessible to those who need them.
- Ensure advocacy strategies are aligned with the latest regulatory and policy developments in the allergy/immunology therapeutic space.
- Encourage innovative approaches to advocacy that align with our core values.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, patient groups, industry partners, and healthcare practitioners.
- Identify and establish relationships with key, new, non-traditional stakeholders to support market changes and portfolio expansion.
- Represent Celldex, effectively communicating our mission, values, and advocacy goals.
- Build and nurture a network of influential organizations and leaders to support advocacy initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, conveying complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Provide regular updates and reports to Executive Management on policy developments and advocacy efforts.
- Maintain open and transparent communication channels within the team and across the organization.
- Develop metrics to assess the effectiveness of advocacy strategies and initiatives.
- Use data-driven insights to refine and improve policy/advocacy efforts.
- Ensure all policy and advocacy activities comply with relevant regulations and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharma industry with a strong background in advocacy and a working knowledge of private and public policy (state and federal policy experience preferred)
- Experience navigating changing policy environments and market dynamics.
- Strong ability to work across functions and to articulate the importance and value of stakeholder advocacy
- Experience in Immunology and Inflammation markets preferred.
- Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities, capable of developing long-term advocacy strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at articulating complex ideas.
- Deep understanding of the regulatory, market, and payer landscapes in the pharmaceutical and biopharma space.
- Travel- 50% with more travel possible pre-launch.
Compensation Statement
The expected base salary for this position is: $233631.00 to $303417.00. We are committed to compensating employees equitably based on several factors including experience, education, licensure/certifications, skill level, location of the position, and availability of similar talent in a competitive market. Subject to eligibility and applicable plan terms, compensation includes base salary, annual discretionary bonus, long term incentive, 401(K) plan with employer contribution, health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
