ROLE OVERVIEW
Astrodyne TDI is seeking a hands-on Supply Chain Manager to lead sourcing, purchasing, material planning, inventory, and logistics activities supporting global manufacturing operations. This role is designed for an experienced people leader who can manage daily execution, establish priorities, and support a team through a period of growth. The successful candidate will balance strategic thinking with practical problem solving, maintain strong supplier and internal partnerships, and help ensure production and customer commitments are met.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Lead, coach, and develop a supply chain team of approximately five employees, including buyers and operations specialist.
- Establish team priorities, remove obstacles, and create accountability for purchasing, planning, inventory, logistics, and supplier performance.
- Oversee purchasing, supplier selection, sourcing strategies, and supplier qualification across multiple factory locations and global supply channels.
- Manage supplier relationships and serve as an escalation point for quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and inbound material risks.
- Lead material planning, backlog management, Clear-to-Build execution, inventory control, and SIOP/S&OP activities to support production readiness.
- Expedite critical components and coordinate urgent movement of parts between Asia and the United States when production requirements demand it.
- Partner with teams in the United States, China, and Malaysia to resolve constraints, support multiple plants, and maintain alignment across time zones.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, production, sales, and finance to address shortages, bottlenecks, and material-flow challenges.
- Use ERP data, reporting, and supply chain KPIs to identify risks, improve performance, and support timely decisions.
- Develop and maintain procurement processes consistent with AS9100 requirements and operational best practices.
WHAT YOU BRING - REQUIREMENTS
- At least four years of progressive supply chain experience, including two or more years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience leading buyers, planners, or related supply chain professionals without requiring foundational management training.
- Demonstrated experience with sourcing, purchasing, vendor management, materials, inventory, logistics, and critical-part expediting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work onsite in Hackettstown, New Jersey
- Flexibility to participate in approximately one evening meeting per week with global teams; onsite hours may be adjusted when later meetings are required.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations across multiple plants or international locations.
- Knowledge of AS9100, SIOP/S&OP, Clear-to-Build, purchase price variance, and supply chain performance metrics.
- Experience coordinating international logistics and the movement of production materials between Asia and the United States.
SALARY RANGE
$110,000 - $150,000- Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, and business considerations.
