VP of Sales & Marketing
GUARD SERVICES USA
New York City (Onsite, Grand Central Office) | Reports to: President
ABOUT US
Guard Services USA is a national guard services company delivering physical security solutions to multi-location national and regional chain store retailers, QSR, commercial real estate, healthcare, hospitality, and banking. With 20,000+ locations served nationwide and 120,000+ guard shifts completed annually, we are building a reusable, self-sustaining go-to-market engine and scaling the commercial team to match the ambition of our client base.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on VP of Sales & Marketing to lead and scale our commercial organization. This role owns the full go-to-market effort, including sales team leadership, pipeline strategy, and marketing execution. Reporting to the President, the VP will lead our Business Development Representative (BDR) team directly, drive the three core revenue engines (developing existing accounts, targeted account-based outreach, and inbound demand generation), and build the systems, marketing automations, and content that provide strong foundational outbound and inbound lead generation. This is a player/coach leadership role: the VP's primary value is in managing, coaching, and holding the BDR team accountable for building a healthy pipeline, fulfilling the growth potential of existing accounts and acquiring new chain store retailers and multi-location clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Team Leadership
▸ Directly lead and manage the Business Development Representative (BDR) team — a single, centralized team rather than regionally assigned — including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management
▸ Own BDR onboarding, training and development — building formalized systems and process training grounded in established sales methodologies such as MEDDIC, SPIN, and GAP Selling, alongside objection handling and CRM discipline — that take new hires from day one through full pipeline ownership
▸ Set and hold the team accountable to activity standards, pipeline hygiene, and Zoho CRM compliance — all activity, stages, and deal notes logged accurately and on time
▸ Run regular one-on-ones, pipeline reviews, and sales meetings; rank team performance and address underperformance directly
▸ Build and maintain the sales compensation, quota, and territory structure in partnership with the President
Go-to-Market Strategy & Marketing
▸ Define and execute the go-to-market strategy, aligned to the three core revenue engines: developing existing accounts, targeted account-based outreach, and inbound lead generation
▸ Own content strategy and marketing execution that supports the sales team — sales enablement materials, proposal templates, campaign calendars, and marketing automations across email and social
▸ Optimize our existing Zoho CRM and marketing automation stack to drive data-driven decision-making and a reusable, tokenized system that scales cleanly across brands, metros, and verticals
▸ Partner with website, SEO, and design resources to ensure city landing pages, service pages, and lead-gen assets stay current and on-brand
▸ Maintain and evolve the account-based marketing and review program for reaching target accounts, ensuring prospect engagement improves sales cycle quality and velocity.
Client & Revenue Development
▸ Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, personally engaging on the most strategic pursuits and multi-stakeholder deals
▸ Lead efforts to secure new business in target verticals, with particular emphasis on national and regional chain store retailers, alongside QSR, commercial real estate, healthcare, hospitality, and banking — with a focus on multi-location enterprise operators (50+ locations)
▸ Act as a strategic partner in client engagements, presenting solutions that address both facilities and security operational challenges
▸ Champion the account development motion for existing clients, ensuring the sales team surfaces and pursues expansion opportunities consistently
Performance & Analytics
▸ Define and track key performance indicators — pipeline growth, sales team activity and conversion, account development goals, client retention, and campaign performance
▸ Report regularly to the President and executive leadership on team performance, pipeline health, and progress against the go-to-market roadmap
▸ Use data-driven insight to refine marketing automations, targeting, and messaging on an ongoing basis
QUALIFICATIONS
▸ 5–10 years of experience in sales and marketing leadership within facilities services, security services, or a related B2B service industry
▸ Proven experience directly managing and developing a full-cycle or outbound sales team — hiring, coaching, and holding a team accountable to activity and pipeline-generation standards
▸ Demonstrated experience building and growing a sales pipeline in a B2B services environment, with working familiarity in marketing automation, content strategy, and account-based programs (prior experience standing up a CRM from scratch is not required)
▸ Strong knowledge of account-based marketing strategies and enterprise-level, multi-location client development
▸ Required: experience selling to or supporting sales into national or regional chain store retailers; additional experience across QSR, commercial real estate, healthcare, hospitality, or banking is a plus
▸ Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage VP- and C-suite-level executives
▸ Working knowledge of CRM platforms (Zoho or comparable) and marketing automation tools
▸ Self-starter with a strategic mindset, comfortable operating in a low-structure, build-in-progress environment without waiting for a playbook
▸ Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience
▸ Nice to have: experience owning or contributing to a combined sales and marketing budget (not required)
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary: $120,000–$150,000, plus performance bonus tied to team revenue and quota attainment (target on-target earnings, or OTE, of $160,000–$200,000).
▸ Competitive base salary with performance-based bonus tied to team and company revenue targets
▸ Comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, vision, and 401(k)
▸ Direct leadership access and real influence over the commercial infrastructure being built
▸ Opportunity to build and lead a high-impact team in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment
