Position Overview
The Events & Hospitality Manager owns every event that takes place on the Executive Business Center floor, from the moment a request comes in to the moment the room is reset. This role is the single point of contact for hosts booking meetings and events, plans and coordinates each day's schedule, orders and manages all food, beverage, and service materials, and leads the floor team that executes service. The majority of events call for a polished beverage service, with food service centered on platter-presented items such as sandwiches, salads, breakfast parfaits, and charcuterie boards. This is a working manager role: the person in this seat will be hands-on in daily prep and platter assembly alongside the team, not just directing it. The floor serves company presidents, directors, and visiting guests, and the standard for organization, presentation, and discretion is exceptionally high.
This is a highly visible, guest-facing management role that requires polish, discretion, and composure. We are looking for a candidate who is:
An experienced events, catering, or hospitality leader who can plan, produce, and manage at once
Hands-on in the kitchen, with strong cold food and platter presentation skills
Highly organized, able to run an event calendar, ordering, staff, and same-day changes without appearing rushed
A polished, professional presence, comfortable with senior executives and external visitors
Discreet and trustworthy, understanding the confidential nature of executive meetings
Responsibilities
Event Intake & Planning (25%)
Own the request-to-execution process for every event on the floor.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all event and meeting requests on the floor
Confirm scope with hosts: headcount, timing, service level, menu, dietary needs, room setup, and AV or special requests
Build and maintain the daily and weekly event schedule and communicate it to staff and the kitchen
Manage same-day changes, additions, and cancellations calmly and communicate them to everyone affected
Coordinate with office administrative staff on room bookings and visitor access
Food Preparation & Presentation (25%)
Oversee and help execute the production of everything served on the floor.
Lead and work alongside the team on daily prep and assembly of cold and room temperature items: sandwiches, salads, breakfast parfaits, charcuterie and cheese boards, fruit, pastries, and similar platter-based menus
Build and plate platters and boards to a high visual standard, with attention to composition, garnish, portioning, and consistency
Manage prep timing so food is assembled fresh and staged ahead of each event, and hold items at proper temperatures
Inspect each room before hosts arrive: platters, linens, labeling, allergen signage, and beverage stations
Maintain a clean, organized prep area and enforce food safety and sanitation standards
Handle dietary accommodations and confidently answer ingredient and allergen questions
Team Leadership (20%)
Lead the floor team that executes service.
Schedule and assign attendants against each day's event calendar
Train the team on prep standards, service standards, setup, food safety, and presentation
Coach staff, manage performance, and ensure the floor is fully covered each day
Ordering, Inventory & Materials (15%)
Make sure everything needed for service is on hand before it is needed.
Place food and beverage orders with the kitchen and vendors based on the event schedule
Manage par levels and ordering for beverages, disposables, linens, platingware, glassware, and service supplies
Receive and check deliveries against orders and flag shortages or quality issues
Track spend and waste and look for ways to run the floor more efficiently
Guest Experience & Floor Presence (15%)
Be the polished, discreet face of the floor.
Greet and support executives and visiting guests with warmth and professionalism
Anticipate needs during back-to-back event periods and resolve concerns quietly
Set up, reset, and keep rooms and common areas meeting-ready throughout the day
Report facilities issues (AV, furniture, cleanliness) to the appropriate team
Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support smooth floor operations
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
3+ years in catering, hospitality, or food service, including experience leading or supervising a team
Experience planning and executing events or meetings, including intake, scheduling, ordering, and staff coordination
Hands-on experience in cold food production, garde manger, or catering prep, with strong platter and board presentation skills
Experience managing inventory and vendor or kitchen ordering
Front-of-house and guest service experience, ideally in an executive or high-end environment
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a polished, professional demeanor
Comfortable and confident interacting with senior executives and external visitors
Strong organizational skills and comfort managing an event calendar and communicating with hosts across a busy schedule
Discretion and sound judgment in a confidential, executive environment
NYC Food Handler's Certificate, or willingness to obtain one within the first month
Ability to stand and move throughout the floor for extended periods
A commitment to personal accountability and continuous learning
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing catering or events, including staff and logistics
Experience in high-end hospitality (hotels, private clubs, executive dining) or corporate concierge
Knowledge of food allergens and dietary accommodations
