This administrative position reports to the Assistant Dean of EOF. The Assistant Director of EOF Compliance and Persistence is responsible for the EOF Program’s funding compliance interface with the Office of Financial Aid and the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education (OSHE), and for the persistence and re-engagement of EOF students whose funding eligibility is at risk. The Assistant Director supervises one part-time EOF Administrative and Programming Assistant, administers EOF undergraduate grant awards within state regulatory limits, and shares accountability with the Assistant Dean for the full annual expenditure of the EOF Article III allocation. All duties are performed in accordance with OSHE EOF regulations and College policy. The Assistant Director also screens Promoting Retention Opportunity & Excellence Initiative (PROXI) participants for financial aid eligibility and recruits fund-eligible students into the EOF Program, extending the program’s reach into the broader student body.
Example of Duties:
The Assistant Director of EOF Compliance and Persistence will:
- Maintain a working knowledge of the College and EOF financial and programmatic guidelines and regulations.
- Supervise and evaluate one part-time EOF Administrative and Programming Assistant.
- Serve as the EOF Program’s primary liaison to the Office of Financial Aid, the Bursar, and the Registrar for funding certification, payment requests, and award reconciliation.
- Monitor certification and payment request status in NJFAMS and maintain the EOF funding deadline calendar covering all state submission windows.
- Administer the Financial Aid to EOF notification loop following each certification cycle and document confirmation of every state submission.
- Manage a limited caseload of high-complexity funding eligibility cases, including SAP appeals, academic planning, FAFSA completion, and maximum timeframe issues, in coordination with the Office of Financial Aid and academic departments.
- Design and implement re-engagement outreach to stopped-out EOF students and coordinate re-enrollment, financial aid completion, and funding restoration.
- Screen PROXI program participants for financial aid eligibility and recruit fund-eligible students into the EOF Program to grow funded enrollment.
- Maintain the funding and certification sections of the EOF Policies and Procedures Manual with input from the Office of Financial Aid.
- Track funding eligibility status across the EOF roster each semester and report eligibility recovery outcomes to the Assistant Dean.
- Produce semester diagnostic reports that disaggregate student attrition by cause, including loss of financial aid eligibility and XF grades, to inform EOF and College retention strategy.
- Deliver presentations and trainings on persistence practices to academic departments, department chairs, and other College units at least once per semester, extending program findings to the broader College, and represent the Program in state-facing working sessions as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean or a designee.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in higher education administration, organizational leadership, counseling, or a related discipline required.
- 2 years of experience in financial aid administration, student services, or higher education program administration.
- Working knowledge of federal and state financial aid processes, including FAFSA completion, satisfactory academic progress standards, and state grant programs. NJFAMS experience preferred.
- Experience working with at-risk or underrepresented student populations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage compliance processes, deadlines, and case documentation.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse students, staff, and community partners.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Suite, including, but not limited to, Word and Excel.

Compensation: Salary is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The starting salary for this position is $60,000
