Job Summary
A.E.E. Services is hiring an experienced Residential Service Electrician to join our team based in Whippany, NJ. We’re looking for someone who can handle residential service calls from arrival through completion, troubleshoot problems, communicate clearly with homeowners, and take pride in clean, professional work.
This position focuses primarily on residential electrical service, repairs, and installations. When the residential schedule is lighter, you will be assigned to commercial projects with our Anvil Edge Electric team. Flexibility to work independently in customers’ homes and alongside a crew on commercial jobsites is part of the position.
Company Service Van Opportunity
A company service van may be assigned following an initial performance review. Assignment is based on demonstrated reliability, quality workmanship, professional customer service, and the ability to manage residential service calls independently.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential electrical problems, including power loss, tripping breakers, faulty outlets, and wiring issues.
- Install and replace outlets, switches, lighting, ceiling fans, dedicated circuits, and related wiring.
- Perform panel upgrades, service upgrades, EV charger installations, and other electrical improvements as assigned.
- Explain findings and recommended work to customers, present pricing using company guidelines, and obtain approval before starting additional work.
- Record job notes, photos, materials, and time accurately using our field service app.
- Protect customers’ property and leave work areas clean and orderly.
- Assist commercial crews with rough-in, conduit, wiring, lighting, device installation, and finish work.
- Follow applicable electrical codes, safety procedures, and direction from project leadership.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated residential electrical service experience and the ability to complete typical service calls with minimal supervision.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a working knowledge of residential electrical systems.
- Professional communication skills and confidence working directly with homeowners.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and follow job specifications.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to assigned customer locations and jobsites.
- Comfort using a tablet or smartphone for job documentation and customer approvals.
- Reliability, sound judgment, and pride in workmanship.
- Willingness to accept commercial assignments as scheduling requires.
Commercial electrical experience is preferred. Experience with generators, EV chargers, and residential panel or service upgrades is a plus.
