Jersey Hired is recruiting an experienced Upper-Level USAG Girls Coach for Premier Gymnastics in Morganville, New Jersey. The opening is a part-time role (approximately 20 hours per week), focused almost entirely on coaching upper-level USAG girls, particularly Levels 8–10. An expanded salaried role is also available for candidates seeking more hours and broader responsibilities.
The role
You’ll coach the athletes, collaborate with the existing staff, and help lead the upper-level competitive program from a coaching standpoint. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coaching upper-level USAG girls, particularly Levels 8–10, with a focus on sound technique, safe skill progression, and competition readiness.
- Planning and delivering structured training sessions that support individual athlete development.
- Preparing gymnasts for meets and supporting them during competition.
- Working collaboratively with the existing coaches and building positive relationships with athletes.
- Maintaining a safe, organized training environment and bringing consistency, punctuality, and accountability to coaching.
Staff coordination, broader program management, and administrative responsibilities are part of the expanded salaried option described below.
What you’ll bring
- Demonstrated experience coaching optional-level competitive gymnastics, particularly Levels 8–10, with strong technical knowledge of safe progressions, routine requirements, and competition preparation.
- A dependable, punctual approach, clear communication, and a commitment to athlete safety, welfare, and development.
- The ability to collaborate with existing staff and provide coaching leadership for the upper-level program.
Current USA Gymnastics coaching credentials and all applicable safety, background screening, SafeSport, education, and other requirements must be maintained. Candidates needing to complete or renew credentials must meet the applicable requirements before undertaking duties that require them. Additional gymnastics coaching qualifications or sports education would be an advantage.
Expanded salaried opportunity
For a candidate seeking a larger role, Premier Gymnastics is also open to an expanded salaried position combining upper-level USAG girls coaching with coaching across other gym programs and administrative and program-management responsibilities.
Broader coaching and management responsibilities
In addition to coaching upper-level USAG girls, you would need to be comfortable working across Xcel, recreational classes, lower-level programs, and other coaching assignments as needed. Administrative and program-management responsibilities could include:
- Coordinating staff and supporting the coaching team.
- Planning programs and coordinating schedules.
- Communicating with parents.
- Overseeing athlete development and helping manage the broader competitive program.
Candidates interested in this option should be comfortable with both the broader coaching scope and the additional administrative responsibilities.
