Position Overview
Web & Digital Content Manager
Princeton, NJ Hybrid | Full-time, exempt | Salary: $75,000-$85,000
Who We Are
CFMA is the only nonprofit dedicated to advancing the professional development of construction financial professionals. With more than 11,000 members across 90+ chapters in the U.S. and Canada, we provide education, resources, networking, research, CFMA Building Profits magazine, the Voices of CFMA podcast, and the CCIFP certification.
Position Overview
CFMA has spent years building a remarkable amount of insightful content: articles, courses, webinars, podcasts, and 600+ videos. As Web & Digital Content Manager, you’ll own cfma.org and the member experience across our website and email channels, and you’ll lead the work of organizing, connecting, and surfacing what we already have. You’ll also keep the website running smoothly day to day and support the staff and chapter administrators who publish on the main and microsites.
Reporting Line
Reports to the Director of Communications. Works closely with the VP, Content, Marketing & Brand, and with Education, Membership, Events, and Chapter Relations staff and outside vendors.
What You’ll Do
Website & Member Experience
- Own cfma.org day to day, keeping pages, navigation, and content accurate, accessible, and on-brand.
- Shape the site around what members are trying to accomplish, so they can quickly find the content, education, and resources that fit their goals.
- Apply UX and accessibility (WCAG) best practices to page layouts, forms, and member paths.
Content Strategy & Discoverability
- Put CFMA’s content strategy into practice across the website, connecting articles, education, podcast, and video with clear next steps for members.
- Develop and maintain the tagging, taxonomy, and naming standards that keep content organized and easy to find.
- Own on-page SEO and a regular content governance cycle to review, update, and retire content.
- Partner with Education, Publications, and other teams to bring content to the web in a consistent, repeatable way.
Email Marketing
- Monitor the health of email and digital campaigns, including education promotion (a primary registration driver): track delivery, open, and click performance, and flag issues like low deliverability or underperforming sends for review.
Systems, Integrations & Vendors
- Serve as the business owner for how the website connects to our AMS, store, learning and event platforms, and HubSpot. Document requirements and prioritize fixes with vendors and IT; you won’t be expected to build complex integrations yourself.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with website, CMS, and related platform vendors.
- Test new pages, releases, and key member flows (registration, purchase, recording access), and run user acceptance testing for vendor updates.
Analytics & Reporting
- Track and report on website, search, and email performance, and use the data to decide what to improve, combine, or retire.
Support, Training & Workflow
- Train and support staff and chapter administrators who publish content, and keep publishing guidelines and the web style guide current.
- Manage web requests, bugs, and projects in monday.com.
- Keep up with web, SEO, email, and accessibility practices, document processes, and recommend improvements with a clear member benefit.
Who You Are
- You like making complicated things easy to find, and you think like a busy member first.
- You’re organized and dependable, and you close the loop on requests.
- You’re comfortable in the CMS and can open the HTML when a page needs fixing.
- You write clear web and email copy and know how SEO, tagging, and navigation work together.
- You use data to make decisions, and you can explain them in plain language.
- You collaborate well across teams and vendors, and you’re a patient trainer.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, information science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years managing websites and digital content in a professional setting.
- Hands-on CMS experience, including page building, navigation, and user/permission management.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Experience managing an email marketing or automation program (HubSpot strongly preferred), including monitoring campaign performance and handling list, segment, and deliverability administration.
- Experience with Google Analytics (GA4) and SEO fundamentals, including metadata, internal linking, and Search Console.
- Experience with QA/user testing and working with vendors.
- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on HubSpot experience or certifications (Email Marketing, Marketing Hub).
- Experience with an AMS or CRM (Salesforce-based platforms like Fonteva or Nimble AMS, or iMIS, YourMembership, NetForum) or an LMS/event platform integration.
- Experience building taxonomies, content hubs, or learning pathways.
- Basic JavaScript; familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards.
- Project management experience, including planning timelines and coordinating across teams and vendors, and comfort tracking work in monday.com or similar tools.
- Comfort using AI tools to speed up every day work like drafting, QA, research, or data cleanup.
- Association, nonprofit, or professional-education experience; familiarity with CPE-eligible education.
