DescriptionThis full-time role serves as a key administrative and scheduling support position within a busy, hospital-based dental clinic. The position acts as a liaison between patients, families, visitors, providers, and hospital personnel, helping to coordinate patient scheduling, phone communication, and day-to-day clerical operations. The individual must be organized, flexible, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while supporting departmental leadership and promoting PRIDE values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming phone calls, using proper telephone etiquette to assist patients and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments to support clinic flow and provider availability.
- Perform clerical and administrative tasks, including drafting documents, correspondence, agendas, and other departmental materials as requested.
- Provide calendar management and scheduling support for departmental leadership, including coordination of meetings and reminders.
- Assist with maintaining accurate patient and administrative records within Dentrix and Epic.
- Support front desk operations as needed to ensure efficient patient check-in, communication, and overall clinic operations.
- Track and organize departmental information, including schedules, documents, and office-related requests.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned to support clinic and departmental needs.
QualificationsMinimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- Prior experience in a dental or medical office setting strongly preferred.
- Experience with scheduling, phone-based customer service, or administrative support strongly preferred.
- Dental billing experience is a plus but not required.
Language:
- Ability to read, write, and speak English required.
- Spanish-speaking proficiency required.
