Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automobile Assistant Office Manager with strong accounting and management skills. Automotive industry experience is highly preferred. This role offers an excellent opportunity for accounting professionals to advance their careers by working closely with General and Department Managers to improve operations and implement revenue and cost control measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the accounting office and assist with lease, retail, and wholesale deal processing
- Process trade payoffs, daily deposits, and bank reconciliations accurately and timely
- Maintain accurate accounting schedules and manage accounts payable and receivable
- Process aftermarket warranties and coordinate payments to vendors
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with company policies and procedures
- Manage and train office staff as needed
- Conduct floorplan audits and assist with audits and compliance activities
- Collaborate with Office Manager/Controller on financial inquiries, reports, and special requests
- Provide accounting support to all dealership departments
- Assist with end-of-month reporting and procedures
Work Environment
This full-time position is based at Madison Honda in Clinton, NJ. You will work in a fast-paced automotive dealership environment, requiring strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2-3 years of dealership office management experience preferred
- Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds Ignite software preferred
- Proficient in MS Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of dealership financial statements and multiple accounting positions
- Strong communication and supervisory skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Detail-oriented with strong accuracy and organizational skills
- Demonstrated honesty, integrity, and professionalism
- Positive, helpful, and encouraging attitude
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and follow-up skills
- Team player able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
