Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Automobile Dealership Assistant Office Manager with strong accounting and management skills and a background in the automotive industry. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to advance their career.
The Assistant Office Manager will work closely with the General Manager and Department Managers to identify operational improvements and implement initiatives to increase revenue and reduce costs. The ideal candidate is a proven leader, effective trainer, and confident in achieving results.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the accounting office and support the Office Manager/Controller
- Assist with deal breakdowns and posting lease, retail, and wholesale transactions
- Process trade payoffs, daily deposits, and bank reconciliations
- Maintain accurate accounting schedules and financial records
- Process aftermarket warranties and coordinate vendor payments
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of all store financial transactions in compliance with company policies
- Administer and enforce established policies and procedures
- Manage and train office staff as needed
- Conduct floorplan audits and assist with audits and compliance activities
- Provide accounting support to all departments
- Assist with month-end reports and financial procedures
- Communicate key financial issues to management promptly

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2-3 years of dealership office management experience preferred
- Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds Ignite software preferred
- Proficiency with MS Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred
- Knowledge of dealership financial statements and accounting office processes
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with experience managing office staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Detail oriented with strong accuracy and organizational skills
- Integrity, honesty, and a positive, can-do attitude
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to follow up on tasks and resolve issues effectively
- Team player with the ability to train and mentor others
