We are currently seeking a Charge Entry Representative at Cherry Hill OB/GYN in Mt.Laurel, NJ
The Charge Entry Representative supports Axia Women’s Health practices by accurately entering charges and preparing claims for timely submission. This role ensures that services delivered by our providers are documented and billed correctly, enabling revenue cycle efficiency and supporting high quality patient care. The Charge Entry Representative is detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to productivity, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
Essential Functions
- Review provider encounters for completeness and accuracy before entering charges into the practice management system.
- Enter charges for in-office and out-of-office services as assigned, including routine diagnostic procedures and ancillary care.
- Scan and attach supporting documents to encounters following established workflows.
- Prepare and submit clean claims to Axia RCM for processing.
- Address basic clearinghouse or payor rejections by correcting clerical or data-entry errors within scope.
- Reconcile daily charge entry work with scheduled appointments to ensure all visits are accounted for.
- Follow established billing policies, procedures, and payor requirements as directed by leadership.
- Escalate discrepancies, missing documentation, and complex denials to the Charge Entry Specialist or supervisor.
- Maintain productivity and accuracy standards as defined by the revenue cycle team.
- Provide supportive customer service by responding to internal emails and requests in a timely manner.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and department projects as needed.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of medical billing, medical terminology, and HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information.
- Strong attention to detail with consistent accuracy in data entry.
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage high-volume tasks.
- Familiarity with eClinicalWorks (eCW) or other practice management systems preferred.
Experience and Education
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in medical billing, charge entry, or related healthcare administrative role preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical billing coursework or certification preferred but not required.
- OB/GYN billing experience helpful but not necessary.
Pay or shift range: $18-23
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
