Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of plant configuration change documents, design analysis, and instrument accuracy calculations in accordance with plant procedures.
  • Performing walkdowns to verify as-built conditions and confirm modification scope.
  • Lead and support troubleshooting activities to resolve emergent equipment challenges.
  • Perform assessments of degraded systems or components to determine their ability to perform a specific function.
  • Providing outage engineering support which may require shift work/off hours support.
  • Participation in the Emergency Response Organization, in which the successful candidate will be assigned a specific duty.
  • Respond to technical inquiries from maintenance and provide responses to support online work.
  • Performing other assigned duties as determined by the Salem Engineering Response Team Manager

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's of Engineering or Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technology discipline.
  • Five years experience in the nuclear industry or related experience.
  • Technical proficiency is desired in the area of Instrumentation and Controls Systems (Analog / Digital Systems, feedback systems, loop scaling, etc.).
  • Availability for Shift Work during plant outages and generation challenges.
  • Must meet Nuclear requirements for Unescorted Plant Access.
  • Must have a valid U. S. driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record
  • Must meet US Dept of Energy requirements for access to nuclear technology information under 10 CFR 810.

Desired:

  • Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state)
  • Zero to ten years of experience in Nuclear Power Plant Experience (including operations or maintenance roles)
  • Familiarity with the operation and troubleshooting of programmable logic controllers
  • Familiarity with electric or electromechanical analog / pneumatic control loops
  • Familiarity with distributed digital data collection and control systems (e.g. Emerson Ovation, RSLogix, PI Process Book, SCADA, Curtiss-Wright R*Time)


Certain positions at the Company may require you to have access to Part 810-Controlled Information.  Under the law, the Company is limited in who it can share this information with and in certain circumstances it is necessary to obtain specific authorization before the Company can share this information.  Accordingly, if the position does require access to this information, you must complete a 10 CFR Part 810 Export Control Compliance Nationality Request Form, a copy of which will be provided to you by Talent Acquisition if an offer is made.  If there is a need for specific authorization, due to the time it takes to obtain authorization from the government, we will likely not be able to further proceed with an offer.
